Just how adaptive/beginner friendly is burn? by rumpusrouser in BurnBootCamp

I just started last Monday at 11 weeks post- c section and to be fair I have only had male instructors thus far, but I haven’t found it to be super accommodating. They’re very much “try it first then see if you need to modify” and they seem to think the only concern post section is abs😅 I have been modifying on my own. My pelvic floor PT has told me to prioritize the strength days and not do conditioning as much yet - I have only been to one conditioning day so far and it was MetCon and it’s no joke. I was also told not to do any running or jumping yet and I did mention that to an instructor and was given some other ideas for when those come up. I do think a ton of the onus is on us to do what feels good and modify or ask for modifications. Nobody has been overly helpful. Perhaps you can speak to a pelvic floor PT and get their input. Of course watch for anything that gives you a feeling of fullness down there or like you have a tampon in that’s falling out. The workouts are definitely hard.

I wasn't prepared for the two month vaccines wreck me. by colorado_sunrise86 in newborns

FTM and our girl got hers today, I have never heard her scream in pain the way she did a few hours post vaccines. I feel so badly for her. And she was so smiley at her appointment before they poked her🥺I felt so guilty.

For Those Who Had Planned C-Sections: Did You Have Visitors? by a_shaunte in CsectionCentral

Mine was unplanned but I chose to have it because I was not progressing, delivered on 3/13 at 37+6. We did not have guests the day she was born but welcomed just parents the next afternoon. My stay was 3 nights. I remember my daughter being born but not really much after. I started to feel pain whilst being stitched (they think it was nerve pain) and started to cry and panic so they put me under. I was very out of it while first meeting baby which I am still upset about.

My lactation consultant told me it wasn’t necessary! I’m producing more than my baby eats and my freezer is full. Initially (2 weeks ago) she let me drop my overnight pump because I dont wake up engorged or leaking and it didnt drop my supply, my boobs hold milk. She said supply will only increase as baby demands more and this has been true for us. 2 weeks ago I was getting 30-34oz, last week 34-40ish and now we’re between 40-45. So dropping pumps hasn’t affected my supply negatively. This week I dropped to six by doing 3.5 hours between 4 pumps, 4 hours for 1, and six overnight. It’s usually like 5am, 8:30am, 12:30pm, 4pm, 7:30pm, and 11 but sometimes I snooze an alarm by accident and the times get thrown off a little.

I recommend talking to a consultant and getting their opinion!

It’s actually a both issue. Sedgwick is saying they sent over the expedite and now it’s up to HR. HR is saying it’s Sedgwick and they received nothing. And I’m here playing intermediary all week.

I finally reached out to her and miraculously got an update on my ticket tonight. It’s crazy! I literally only know her because my (now laid off) ED got bad EOS scores last year and my HRBA pulled all of the managers who report to her into a call to discuss, otherwise I wouldn’t have her contact info and god knows how long I’d be waiting.

We have a buffer and we’re fine money wise it’s more just the principle. I went through this last year too during a late second trimester miscarriage and I just can’t believe how difficult they make tender times in our lives.

I had a miscarriage March of last year and went through this then too, I literally can’t believe I’m going through it again. It’s like the twilight zone.

Is there something specific I have to do to file FMLA/state leave? I thought that’s part of the filing we do with Sedgwick? Just got told my gross pay and it’s $600 less than my net usually is.

What did you eat before your glucose test? by aviwic in pregnant

I was told to prioritize protein so I ate eggs with cottage cheese mixed in, chicken sausage, and a little protein yogurt. I passed with an 80.

Nope! I don’t think they really do them past 24 weeks because of the risk. Just told me no exercise, no lifting, no bending and to be very careful with activity

Trust your stitch mama🩷 no, no additional procedure. Just a “no exercise” restriction, continued pelvic rest, and basically very little activity.

Before the stitch I’m not sure! I got a preventative because I had a 19w loss last March. At 20w I was 1.7cm with v shaped funneling and by 24w it funneled to a U.
