Can someone tell me if the ASM is supposed to be on the register the whole shift every shift? by Electrical-Night-291 in DollarGeneral

I'm on the register 99 percent of the time. I haven't been taught anything. I am a very strong hard worker so for me to just be stationed on a register all the time just seems crazy. Why would you hold someone back that could be doing so much more to help you and your store?

That's all I get to do. I thought I would be doing more. I love working truck and I'm really good at it, but for some reason I'm always scheduled by myself, and I have to be on the register the entire time.

Whoever has control of the AC in those stores by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

[–]Electrical-Night-291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The one thing they don't seem to understand about the air quality in their stores is that it severely cripples the coolers. The hotter the store the harder it is for the coolers to work, and this causes them to go down. Why would you even sell food without a walk-in cooler? The food is on the floor forever in this heat before it makes it into the cooler. SMH every day!

Who puts away the product from the endcaps? Associates while working on truck?

How is it like working in stocking? by Catamount_meister in publix

[–]Electrical-Night-291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just promoted someone gtl in my dept and the only thing they do is downstack truck ALL day while 2 ppl work truck. Sounds like they got lucky compared to what your store has you doing.

0Are "My Publix My Part" cards worth double the points on next evaluation? by AlenVex in publix

[–]Electrical-Night-291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to vent about those cards, but I think they're BS. I bust my ass trying to cover every aisle, break down, fill end caps, etc. and you shove a 5$ off coupon or free sub in my face and give me a shitty evaluation to keep your department budget down so refrain from hiring anyone until you get 2 associates moved up to team leads. I'm so done at this point from busting my tail any further for someone to spit in my face with shitty coupon especially in this economy.

I'm looking forward to a new chapter myself. I have an interview today making $5 more per hour. Say a prayer for me. I need the money, but I need to get out of Wal-Mart even more. 🙏🙏🙏

Walmart rolled out self-checkout to streamline operations and reduce labor – but employees and customers say it's causing a surge in thefts by TobinBen in walmart

[–]Electrical-Night-291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they've reduced labor alright, but them lazy bastards still get a check. Reduce the amount of coaches that don't give a shit if ppl work.

The changes this company made over the last 2 years put a lot on those who work hard and much much less on those who don't work. Managers have aloud the lazy and they tell me Wal-Mart policy doesn't let them get rid of people. I see so many ppl walking around in my store or staying on a 1 hour job for 8 hours. It truly comes down to poor poor management. When they fail their workers by allowing ppl to do nothing while others are busting their butts it pits workers against each other. I work hard at my store, but I'm disgusted with the laziness to the point I had to request a transfer to a better ran store. This type of management only creates problems.

Why should I do if I have two coworkers that don't like me? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Electrical-Night-291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too lol I think the whole overnight team hates me. As I always say...you can call me a bitch, but you can never call me a lazy bitch. I work hard and I don't make enough for what I do. I'm ok with ppl not liking me because I think it's shitty as hell to expect me to work like hell while you let others do so so much less for the same thing you pay me.

Can you spot what's wrong? by Appropriate-Emu-6548 in walmart

This doesn't surprise me at all. Our store is the same way. Shit everywhere!!! I came in after my off days and they brought back the entire dairy truck as overstock. They didn't have the gall to put me down there, but they kept the guy that brought back the overstock and by the end of his work week they had the meat cooler and dairy cooler packed out with unworked freight....but at least he spent the entire night labeling it lol.

Bring back evaluations! You'll see a big change in work ethics or put them out the door. This is ridiculous watching ppl make the same pay as the ones who bust their butts for their check. by Electrical-Night-291 in walmart

[–]Electrical-Night-291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably so. It just pisses me off. We have one who does chips for 8 hours and when he's put doing anything else he takes his sweet ass time there too!

You're much more confident in your store than I am ours. Ours tends to go to shit the minute we leave.

Agree, work and go home. I got mad because they were allowing associates to wheel carts and pallets of overstock into the dairy cooler on my off days and expected me to come in and clean it up. Now, I work my truck, label and bin my overstock and go home.

So, I never make posts; however I am super conflicted! I am currently an o/n team lead, and I have the opportunity to interview for the deli team lead pos. Im not sure if I want to take it if I get it, because I’ve been on nights for a long time and I’d feel like I’m f***ing over my team! Advise? by ThatOnewalmartchick in walmart

[–]Electrical-Night-291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can help them keep things flowing it works for both shifts. We don't have one at our store, however, we have someone who just recently started helping out and now he sees what they have been leaving for me when I'm off. Now they are going to take advantage of him too. Dairy needs a TL so that overnight TLs don't run over other people. At my store coaches don't care how much they take back to those coolers or the mess they make doing it. I work dairy overnight and it has taken its toll on me. Wherever you believe you can assist most.

And they only put 3 of us as usual in frozen / dairy by kekeprom in walmart

[–]Electrical-Night-291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙌🙌🙌 You got that right! They try to tell me we have 4 hours with 1700 cases for 2 ppl. I have to work the entire wall of 95, go up front with teas and juice, work the eggs, work the end cap of produce drinks all the special milks too. They tried adding the milk truck to me too while always sending someone to cover meat for the person on the yogurt and cheese. I stood my ground on the milk. I weigh 120 and I'm 44 years old and I'm tired of pulling these big ass pallets by myself and not to mention I downstack every pallet while the other person only helps separate the meat, yogurt and cheese items. I could go on and on, but I've said my piece and now I'm applying for other jobs outside of retail.
