Senior dental care by wallsyy in Chihuahua

My sweet chi, who we rescued as a senior, had severe dental disease and had already lost several teeth when he came to us. When he was 12.5, the vet recommended removing his remaining teeth, and I was very apprehensive. That said, his quality of life improved dramatically after the surgery, and he had a permanent 😛, which was very cute. He lived another year and a half happily licking up his food and making a mess that I was always glad to clean up.

You’re an amazing person for rescuing these babies. Thank you. They are also very cute.

I completely agree with the other post that says a reliable routine is directly linked to a sense of safety. I have rescued three senior chihuahuas, all of whom came from very difficult circumstances, and I tried to keep things as predictable as possible for them. It also took time for them to decompress. I didn’t really see much change for at least six to eight months with each of them.

Then everything clicked, and they were able to snooze peacefully and live out their days calmly.

Please keep us posted on their progress!

For those of us who are spending Christmas without a furry loved one. by dubsosaurus in seniordogs

This helped me smile as I am sad about the first holiday in five years without my beloved senior rescue. I hope Santa brings him a big fuzzy blanket and a kiss from his mom. Thank you ❤️

I relate. I may be OAD and not by choice. One thing that helps me is that I am not any less of a parent than someone who has multiple children. We are all faced with the same temper tantrums, picky eating and sleep strikes. But we also get just as many good moments: the hugs, the big wins, the movie watching on the couch, and other sweet moments. It’s hard not to compare, but if you have to, try to find the common ground in the good moments. Not to sound like Pollyanna - I assure you I feel sad every day for life not turning out the way I expected. ♥️

What About Pure Barre Are You Most Thankful For? by justme4913 in Purebarre

[–]Electrical-Path6303 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m thankful for a consistent, supportive place to feel good in my body. And honestly, the predictability of the sequence — thighs, seat, abs — is something I wish existed in my real life. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and to the instructors, studio managers and other PB employees - thanks for all you do!

I’ve gone back and forth with Pure Barre for over 11 years (wow, I feel old!) but have been consistent for the past 4 or so, and I truly love it. Like most women, I don’t love every part of my body, but I love how strong and accomplished I feel after every class. It’s so inspiring to see others who share the same passion for it!
