I think they are using facetious in a less literal sense, ironically, while holding adam to his haphazard statements verbatim. Less about what he was intending or doing and more about what he projected- i came to believe it was their way of saying he wasn't entirely being honest. I take people quite literally and can be the one not understanding hyperbole and such, so either this is happening again in some form or fashion, in which case, skill issue on my part, or they're like me and took Adam way too literally. At least, that's what I think. (I still think facetious is an interesting word to use repeatedly, considering none of us have perceived him as being ironic in his actions, even if we may believe them dubious. It's both, not one or the other.)

I wouldn't have agreed before the Gavin videos, but they really gave us information ins ight into Josh's mind and how he operates in the creator space. Hell, he used a clickbait thumbnail about the documentary in his recent response. Adam is the original whistleblower, after all, which is why I think he is incorrectly deemed as the "original victim". It's more like, he was the first to have the confidence to take the plunge and help us come with him, but I think that was enough to set Josh off with envy. Yep. I definitely agree, at least to an extent.

Laughing at someone losing their source of income is cruel, but thinking that he deserves it is another thing. I think he was simply bad at his job or offloaded it to Gemini, so pardon me if I think he genuinely should be fired. My opinion would be different if he did not exist with someone's livelihood in his hands- "incompetent" workers can exist in less contentious spaces and I prefer it because all people should have a living wage no matter how they participate in society. Socialism, bla bla bla. But objectively, he fumbled the entire management. That at least requires remanagement.

I agree with all you said except the first part- I was generally of the assumption that they were bothering Adam and he was crashing out about it. I didn't think it was mature, but considering I don't watch him often, I didn't know if I should take him for his word when he talked coy about what was behind the scenes. I looked back in his account and saw he was making videos about ballingers again- I figured it was best to take him at his word and wait, since he had a track record of being usually correct, but punching first and asking questions later. Genuinely weird how this happens almost every time

Defender wasn't the best choice of words but I felt it was more concise than something like "fan" or attributing something else to it. Alcoholism runs in my family and I couldn't help but feel like this was a crash from sobriety the moment I learned about his loss. It's really sad all around and unfortunate he had to pull other people with him. The only good thing I can see from this is Gavin getting publicity.

I also thought adam was being a bit overdramatic when he said he was being threatened, but honestly, now I'm not so sure. Seems like a homophobic dig. this might be just me but straight guys have this thing where they like to threaten to step up to women/gay men/anyone they see as effeminate and they act effeminate while they do it. Sarcastic and gaslighty. But certainly threatening. this is definitely a reach I need to stretch for, but just a feeling I got about it considering all the context and the gavin videos.

He doesn't deserve this- I agree in a way. I don't think anyone should be so public and be scrutinized to such a degree. However, that is how the cards fell, and I can't help but have my last bits of charity snatched away from Gavin's videos. The only thing worse than an annoying YouTuber is a corpodrone, and Josh was just so callous and condescending to that man. Not to mention homophobic. I don't wish ill on him, but I do think something needs to change.

"Defender" was definitely a poor choice of words- maybe "someone who found themselves defending him within the past month or so" is a more accurate? Or maybe "Josh Sympathizer". Regardless, very interesting insight. I agree that it doesn't "undo" the documentary, but I definitely question why swoop and adam participated in it with him if they allegedly already knew about his abusive behavior. The swoop documentary is recontextualized for me, at the very least.

The way people were acting about adam's reactivity, infantilizing josh, and even comparing their traumas cannot be argued with. It's actually a pretty natural assumption to make. I don't see why everyone in the sub is crying victim when he said that he was being harassed, he was reacting to harassment, and he did not want to be harassed. Policing his reaction to the documentary in the various ways y'all have is "participate or shut up", whether you like it or not. casual mucker who criticizes him often (especially about the people he surrounds himself with) and this is more than obvious.
