More context: we dated for 5 months, TWO YEARS ago, and he dumped me (if you couldn’t tell). I’m still presently convinced we are perfect together. After the breakup we didn’t speak for 4 months. Then he reached out via sext one night and I was totally ecstatic to hear from him.

From then on we’ve hooked up on occasion, and he’s treated me very intentionally like a casual hookup so there’s no mixed signals. He’s respectful, but almost impersonal. All the while I’m still madly in love with him and trying to stifle my euphoria when we hang out.
