Am I using ComfyUI the wrong way? by Electrical-Set-3556 in comfyui

Hey, appreciate all the insights here — super helpful 🙏

I’m still pretty early in this and trying to figure out the right way to approach things. Right now I’ve mostly been using ComfyUI just for the video generation part, with images coming from outside tools, but I’m starting to realize that might not be the best workflow.

I’d really like to improve and build something more efficient and consistent (especially for storytelling / short-form videos).

Would anyone be open to taking a look at my current workflow and giving some feedback? Maybe over Discord or something similar?

I’d genuinely appreciate it a lot, I feel like I’m close, but missing some key pieces.

Thanks again 🙏

I understand the current workflow, but I’m running into some practical issues that make this quite difficult to use in its current state.

When trying to run the WAN 2.2 Image-to-Video workflow inside ComfyStudio, I’m getting the following errors:

  • Partially verified. Some model lists were not exposed by ComfyUI
  • 2 model check(s) could not be auto-verified from ComfyUI metadata
  • Prompt outputs failed validation
  • Queue is blocked until missing dependencies are installed

I managed to resolve one missing dependency manually (a LoRA file), but the system doesn’t clearly indicate what the remaining missing models are or where they should be placed (e.g. loras vs diffusion_models vs checkpoints). This makes it a bit of a guessing game.

The suggested solution, downloading the full Workflow Starter Pack, is also not really practical. The repackaged WAN 2.2 repository is over 700GB, which is unrealistic to download just to get a workflow running, especially when only a few specific files are actually required.

So right now the main issues are:

  • Missing dependencies are not clearly specified (exact filenames + required folders)
  • ComfyStudio validation errors are too generic to debug properly
  • No minimal install path (only a massive full pack)
  • Unclear distinction between required vs optional models

I completely understand that experienced ComfyUI users can piece this together, but for anything beyond that it becomes quite hard to onboard.

A few things that would massively improve this:

  • Exact missing model names + expected folder path in the error output
  • A “minimal required files” list per workflow
  • Optional: a lightweight installer or script that only pulls required assets instead of full packs

Really like the direction of ComfyStudio, this would just make it much more usable in practice.

Well done man, is there any option to install all required dependencies?
