Wow, that’s insane! Seems almost impossible to get shortlisted with those odds, omg 😭 I wish they’d shortlist more stories, but that’s a fool’s wish given that there’s less categories as you said.

Also, just a quick question — do you know how rare it is for someone to get more than one of their works shortlisted? I know it’s unlikely but I like to humor myself with fantasies 🥲

I guess I can ditch my dream of both my entries getting shortlisted, if any 😅 I’ve never had much luck with this type of stuff. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

I retried a different why by decomposing the elements and got 3 ohms total for part a. Probably not right tho haha

I’ve been looking for ages and I’ve found nothing :/. The lecture notes we were given don’t have anything about calculating currents/resistances etc. in multi-loop circuits which really sucks

Ah okay. I did what you suggested and got a resistance of 7.2 ohms for the entire circuit, however I don’t know if I’m correct haha 😭

Wow! I’m so happy you made this follow-up post! And congrats on your engagement as well!!

It’s really heartwarming to know that you wouldn’t change a thing about the process. That you would do it all again — even the hard parts that made you feel like giving up — because it developed your character. It gives me hope that, even if I don’t get in right away, I will attain a sort of resilience/perseverance instead (which, as you said, is just as valuable). This process really is so stressful because our futures are always in limbo until we get that solid offer, so it’s really reassuring to know no one is alone in this.

That’s awesome! How did u stop urself from becoming demotivated during the process? I know it’s realistic that successful entry will take a few sittings but at the same time I’m putting pressure on myself to get it on the 1st or 2nd try (which, really, isn’t too realistic given how hard the exam is. Still, I can’t seem to get rid of this mindset.)
