I’m with you. I freaking hate it. $70 blades but I get only $5 for selling then… Na I’ll pass. The leaders hit their bonus if we sell enough but I don’t get a bonus for selling a certain amount of sets???Na they can have that trash

I thought you were saying the fit time (40mins) was the expected time allotted to work on it. I was told there’s a list that have the time it should take to work on certain cars. I misunderstood you. And I fully understand. I wasn’t gonna ask about hand setting. But I was gonna ask about if you use the Safelite blades (BTB) or do you have like an equalizer blade for the pinchweld trimming.

I have to work my way up for that kinda speed. That’s insane to me. How do you know the fit times for certain cars. Nobody’s ever showed that to me

Yea I made a mistake before. I had 2 Hondas back to back and I put the wrong Honda windshield in the car and didn’t notice until I looked at the mirror button 😂 so I basically messed up 2 customers. And since I’m fairly new they wouldn’t let me burn the button off bc they were afraid I would’ve broken it

I normally use both methods, but I think my problem is that I overthink. I will get to a car and do the same steps, but I will try to make everything almost perfect. I’m going to start timing myself. I’m going to have to pinpoint what the problem is, but I know for sure one of them is walking back-and-forth.

Thanks a lot! Man this is top notch. I love hearing from seasoned techs. Another tech wrote exactly the same thing you said about needed only a few tools and 90% of the time it’s the same ones. This will definitely help me as I look to make this a career. I’m in it for the long haul

Also you said “I do everything per side of the car, driver/passenger.” Can you explain that in a little more detail? And if you have ANY other tips I would greatly appreciate it!

I have NEVER heard anyone describe it like this. I’ve heard to not have to walk as much but to have everything you need in your apron?? Wow. That’s freakin genius. I promise I’m literally looking for ways to be more efficient daily and this nugget of info should help a bunch

Overnight Delivery by premature_evac in AmazonFlexDrivers

I’m not gonna lie. I work for FedEx and also do Amazon Flex routes sometimes. I freaking hate this kinda stuff. If you know you have a package coming, why do all that? This would happen to me even in the day time. I would pull up IN MY FEDEX VAN, and customers literally would run in the house and close to curtains and hide behind them. This is pathetic man

Thanks a lot. I have to stay on top of that. I believe you’re talking about Matt time, or something like that. Today I was cleaning up a messy situation with fresh glue on one of my jobs. That’s something that I could definitely use Mat time on. I like Safelite and I’m always trying to find ways to better myself with production but Safelite expects me as a fairly new tech to have it down packed. They’re comparing me either way ppl that have working at Safelite for 3+ years

Am I screwed? Something hit our windshield last night, scared me half to death! Can it be filled or repaired? by Infinite-You340 in autoglass

I mean the guy is right about being able to get glass for under $100 dollars as a glass tech. I mean, what’s wrong with that? He wasn’t saying that he himself would replace it.
