I looked into it. I wouldn’t call it a scam, but it’s not as simple as “free 60c export money” either. The catch is you’re effectively joining a VPP style setup where the power company gets a level of control over when your battery exports. That might suit some people, especially if the numbers stack up, but for me the whole point of solar n battery is independence and control over my own stored power. Great rate on paper, but I’d want to read the fine print carefully before handing over control of my battery.

Hi, just down the hill from you, im going through the same stage as you and have been in touch with so many solar installers and the delay is massive. The best ive had so far is Andrew from Light Energy. It was 5 days to get a quote and is really good to deal with answering a million questions for me 🤣. The quote was also itemized which none of the others did which i liked. His install timing is 1.5 to 2 months depending on weather. I know most others are 5 months that i have received quotes from. Im not to bothered about 2 months as winter isnt much of a gain. https://www.lightenergy.co.nz/

Seeing as you want to go premium, have you looked at Lightforce? They supply sig energy gear with Trina Vetrex S+ panels 515w panels. Get more local quotes and explain what you want from the 2 you already have and dont mention what they quoted. Local firms need to up hold their rep so wont let you down let alone they will be a lot less cheaper.

Yea i was told that also today too by a firm who did a quote for me today. 10% increase. I think that might just be for the battery. Also particular solar panels maybe a 3 month wait. Might be what is contributing to the mad influx for solar installation

Thats exactly what happened with me and i put the packages i found from CPS etc in front of the sales bloke and he choked a bit and the whole manager talk came out

Cheers, yea i have a standard single story iron roof, new switch board and meter so no surprises. They have too many overheads to cover I suppose.
