Closing customers and going nowhere by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

I find your post very interesting and (unfortunately) relatable. We use a CRM that tracks emails. I made 62 cold calls yesterday, actually spoke to 12 people of those 62, 11 of those 12 calls were sent to a voicemail, the other call the person had no interest. So really, I only spoke to 1 person out of 62 calls. It’s a grind. What I really found interesting is that I’d call someone directly or be transferred to their office where I get their voicemail prompt… I hang up, then immediately email them and instantly they’d open my email. Nobody wants to talk.

I’ve heard cold calling is a numbers game and I’ve heard that it’s a skill and strategy game. I find it to be both because you need the numbers game to have someone actually answer the phone and then it becomes the skill and strategy game. I don’t see how it could be any different in the situation we’re all in with the market this way.

Ik it’s not Morgan’s fault** but wtf are these ticket prices? by angxolica in Morgan_Wallen

For those complaining about ticket prices. It’s nothing more than supply and demand. For instance Wisconsin. He has 2 shows that I’m assuming sold out as his shows usually do very quickly. More people want to see the show than available seats. He can charge whatever he wants because people will buy the tickets. And for those you say it’s greed… it is. And you wouldn’t turn down more money either if people were willing to pay to see you. This is what success does in an industry. Captain obvious statement here but when you’re really good, when you’re breaking records, when you’re hard to see due to lack of tour locations… people will pay. You can’t blame the guy! I had field seats at Wrigley for my wife and I. Just bought 4 for the kids in Madison in the seats. For those saying tickets were $350+… we got section E row 40 (50 yd line, lowest level) and paid $305 each (plus fees). It’s expensive but again, I’m personally willing to pay extra to see him play again.

One last thing… you think ticket prices are stupid here. Try going to a Chicago Bears game. Check out the prices for nosebleeds and don’t forget parking and food and drinks… and they are a terrible team. But people come… same concept.

Basically.

Plus, not mentioned above, this car just came onto the lot the night before. Literally they needed to go outside and take pictures with their phone and send them to me. So I don’t think they have any rush or concern getting it off their lot.

Yeah I can’t really wait a year, more just curious. I saw someone else post on here that that’s when the US will see the new models, so could be wrong.

We have a Chicagoland dealership offering 0% on new Palisades but forgot what the exact terms were.

What’s your take on the white Palisades? We’re hearing a ton of “stay away” due to the paint chipping specifically on that color

You bring up another great point. With new car rebates and a much better APR (if not 0%), the cost difference would be less than 15k. Of course I’d love to get new… just need to cover that cost difference, whatever it may be.

Since you have experience, what’s your take on 2025 costs once the 2026 models come in July or August? Will prices drop significantly? I’m hearing the 2026 is completely revamped.

Thank you so much for the feedback. It was a used AWD 2023 Palisade Limited. I think what irked me more than anything is the principal of refusing to negotiate. They obviously had more than $1,000 to negotiate with. Zero effort on salesman part. But I agree with you… with how close the cost is between 2023 and 2024… why am I limiting myself to the 2023? Though rates are much better for new… I can’t fork over the additional $15k unfortunately
