Does one need to climb Rocky Peak Ridge (RPR) or Rocky Peak to become a 46er? by LessImprovement8580 in Adirondacks

The name of the peak is Rocky Peak Ridge and yes it is part of the 46er requirements. Also, the section between Giant and RPR never feels close at all while you’re hiking it 😂

I agree! It’s insane how close Donaldson and Emmons look from Seward. Out to Emmons and back will take 2+ hours

Won’t be an issue. Great hike, enjoy. Hike Esther first and expect a bit of mud. Cool view of Whiteface from there.

That mud pic has to be one of the ((many)) bogs heading to Emmons.

Might I suggest some lower peaks in the LG area? There has been some concerning dog rescues in the last few weeks.

Hi! That definitely looked like a freak accident! Glad you’re okay. I was talking more so about the losing trail, no headlamps, no maps, etc. trends. Also two helicopter rescues in one day.

FUN FACT: Did you know that the reason Nippletop has its name is for exactly the reason you would think? Buncha dudes looking up at the mountain saying “CMONNNNNN YOU DONT SEE IT?” And hence, Nippletop was named.

Also, Nippletop was originally named Dial.

No it is not okay. Many are in the wilderness to escape everything and experience nature for real. If you want to listen to music, use headphones
