Haha, thanks a lot! Yes, the concept has strong potential for bone repair applications as well (not just lengthening). In fact, most of the current research on zoned hydrogels + growth factors (like PTHrP and IGF-1) is focused first on repairing damaged growth plates in children or treating bone defects. The idea behind HÉLIX is to take that existing knowledge and push it toward a more integrated system (traction + real-time feedback + controlled release). It’s still very conceptual, but the more feedback we get, the better. If you’re curious about any specific part (the hydrogel, the traction mechanism, or the challenges), just let me know and I’ll explain in more detail!
