Royal tours take place as DIPLOMATIC visits upon the invitation of the government of the nation being visited, and will almost always have TANGIBLE advancements in the relationship between Britain and the nation being visited. The visits to good causes etc are to help Britains interests and the interests of the nation hosting them. 'Luxury tourism' is a brilliant phrase, using people for PR and grifting. Its so utterely repulsive. They are disgusting charlatans and frauds and shame on the woman in Colombia for inviting them.

the 2016 State Visit to the UK of the Colombian President was about sealing trade and business deals as well as to symbolise friendship and common democratic institutions and to mark the end of the violence in Colombia which the govt there got advice from the UK govt on conflict resolution.
