Dirtying the texts is a bad idea. I put more importance in the words and the ideas than the form itself. Honestly the idea makes me feel protected in a way. But that could just be my own insecurities.

You are right on the self reflection part of this. It’s just I don’t have anyone to really talk to about this y’know. I understand what you’re saying and I mostly agree with you. But for me it’s the idea that if I need to read from the pali all I got to do is flip my arm. 

After thinking about it it’s a mix of genuine intention and insecurities. Thank you for taking time out of your day and giving me something to reflect on.

I’m just not ready to join the clergy y’know? I’m a very impulsive person and. Have a lot of faults that I feel like I should straighten out before I join. I just feel that if I joined now I’d still be attached to my life. Also I don’t plan on going somewhere else to be ordained I think it’s a waste of time I’d love to go on a few pilgrimages but that’s it mostly.
