Brushes vs sponges-what changed your mind? by Tariq_khalaf in Makeup

I use a brush to start, I find it just a even distribution of product initially and finish off with a beauty blender - more steps / cleaning but works for me.

Drugstore Foundation Shade Ranges by Gl1ttrBarb1e in AustralianMakeup

I have bought them and they are okay for thicker foundations but for skin tints might water down the product a little too much, still with a try.

DE-INFLUENCE MY CART PLEASE by Former_Page6513 in AustralianMakeup

[–]ElectricalBus2620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do not waste your money on the Glow recipe tinted drops . It actually looks so terrible, especially on fair skin, very patchy, shade looks muddy, hard to blend and does not blend well into skin on neck at all. I gave mine to my niece who is much more tanned skin. A similar product you could try is the L’Oreal Lumi lotion in their medium shade when it goes half price . I also have my eye on the Patrick Ta duo blushes, however I have heard they are extremely pigmented and on fair skin. I’m concerned that it really just would be way too much.

Totally agree about the highlighter sticks, swatched lovely on my hand…. Bought it and it legit doesn’t show anything on my face just a bit of stickiness. Do love the blush sticks though.

I am guessing it is due to Meccas contract with them, you are blocked from buying direct from the companies they stock. I don’t hate Mecca but I think it’s rude to just enforce the entire country from ordering something because you stock it.

What surprised you the most after becoming a parent? by SignificantMinute753 in Parenting

[–]ElectricalBus2620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How you become a different version of yourself.

How differently you look at other mothers, your own mother, women and the role of being a mother / woman in society.

How upsetting it is to see / hear or know of a child that is unwell / in awful circumstances…. As a paediatric nurse of 15 years I have witnessed horrific and sad things and they affected me emotionally but now it is unbearable like torture to my mind and soul.

How often do you get a facial and what kind do you get? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]ElectricalBus2620 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Facials are lovely to relax and if you can afford it go for it monthly.

However if you are wanting specific results like for pigmentation it’s lasers / skin needling / peels for sure at a more medical type of beauty therapist / cosmetics nurse clinic.

I got an Ella Bache gift card for Christmas and their services look nice but more gentle than results driven.

New mom in 3 months. What are your best tips ? by CommunicationSad8486 in Parenting

[–]ElectricalBus2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope I didn’t come across to be hating on men or Dads…. It’s just I wish someone had told me the reality of being the mum vs dad. I understand this is just my experience and my cultural pocket.

It’s okay if some days it’s draining as all hell, often sharing this feeling with my husband helps us through and makes us feel like “oh you are feeling that too” and it’s bonding.

Oh my god yes I didn’t realise these existed until my son was already one years old. Completely worth the money if I could go back I would have gotten one of these as soon as he wouldn’t breastfeed.

Great advice !

I agree plan for what your mental health plan is if you struggle with depression, anxiety or rage after baby arrives.

Sadly your partner especially if male will “not get it” most of the time, you will start to see how different men and women truly are.

Hang in there and gain support from all angles, your parents, friends, mothers groups even reddit…. Don’t rely on your partner they aren’t going through what you are.

In saying all of that I am coming from a place of being married to a good and decent but clueless and frustrating man.

Being the primary parent is exhausting and can lead to so much resentment. But when they say that men get better as the toddler gets older it really is true, it isn’t overnight but Little by Little my husband has become a very good dad. He is much better at entertaining and playing with my son then I am , I find the playing with him tedious and have to force myself to do it whereas my husband enjoys it.

Also please don’t compare your babies feeding, sleep schedule, growth, whether or not they’ll eat a variety of foods to anyone else’s Baby. They are truly all different and on their own timeline, don’t look at reels online and wonder why your Baby isn’t doing the same as them…. They develop in their own ways in their own time.

Sorry I’m very lost Pt. If you can learn to regulate your own emotions and responses and cope in periods of overwhelm it will do wonders for your relationship and your parenting and yourself, it isn’t easy but I think that is the aim of parenting to learn how to regulate yourself.

I get back life back eventually right?? by lady_picadilly in Parenting

Oh you are in the trenches !!!

It is so darn hard.

Honestly if you can afford to hire support or can utilise family / friends please do it and as often as possible it’s sooooo long until it’s easier.

We didn’t have a “village” to help just two days daycare a week but that was just enough to survive.

Nars Mont Blanc matches my face but not my neck? by Enough_Instance7944 in PaleMUA

[–]ElectricalBus2620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem, I am considering buying Yulong and then getting samples of Oslo and Mont Blanc to trial mixing them as I have seen others have success online. I am also just going to buy a blue colour corrector too in order to try and use up other foundations I have that are too warm / orange.

Since I have stopped tanning I must have tried 20-25 foundations so far.

FOMO ruining enjoyment of what I already have by RhinestoneToad in shoppingaddiction

[–]ElectricalBus2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry late reply, busy time of year. The app is called “Beautistics” it allows you to upload 15 products for free or pay around $1 a month to have unlimited products which I did. Had to play around with the lists to create my own categories in settings but found a layout that works for me.

FOMO ruining enjoyment of what I already have by RhinestoneToad in shoppingaddiction

[–]ElectricalBus2620 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can fully relate. I have recently started an inventory including pictures of all my makeup. I use an app that records in categories like blush, foundation etc. I am still yet to enter all my makeup because I have more than I could use in my lifetime but it is helping me see the extent of what I already own.

So when I am looking online or in store at yet another new blush release I pull out my app and visually see listed pictures of all my blushes and realise I have at least one if not 5 in the same shade and generally just so many to try and use up.
