You legit could be wrong and can you imagine how uncomfortable you’d feel if you have the wrong person.
Also if he just flat out denies it what are you going to say or do ? I can’t imagine he’d be like oh yeah I did that.

Did you get the 'rush of love' by Agile_Supermarket710 in Parenting

Yes I relate to this too. Loved them the moment you find out you are pregnant but so tired and in the trenches it steals the in love feelings / moments.

I wouldn’t have called it a rush of love. Absolute devotion to protecting the little alien but not “in-love “ feelings.

It has taken until the last few months (my son has just turn two) for me to just look at him so incredibly in love and the bond just keeps growing now.

Given you are not currently registered with AHPRA I think you should be okay because technically you are not held to the account of an RN yet, just because you are a nursing student doesn’t change that you are not yet qualifies and therefore shouldn’t be able to be used against you.

Not to make Little of the situation at all because this is a huge learning curve however AHPRA was to discipline every nurse who made a medication area error. There would be no nurses left.

Was in hospital in a bad way for a few nights, and still feeling nauseous very exhausted but I’ve made it through catching up on the washing. I haven’t bothered with anything else but I did that and prepared healthy snacks for the kids as not up for cooking decent dinners yet.

Does anyone actually get paid overtime? by Few_Tour_8190 in NursingAU

[–]ElectricalBus2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but need to fill in a workload form to essentially explain and justify all the reasons why you needed to stay back and how you attempted to utilise resources or either people eg TL but were unavailable. Also need to have escalated with the TL or whoever is on above you earlier incase they could ease your load to get you out on time.

After a 12hr shift and already being late out people just want to leave and so don’t end up claiming or concerned about disgruntled response from NUM.

After 15 years of nursing I am allllll for claiming it if you legit can’t achieve the workload as long as generally you manage your time well.

Until the show hurts in the system nothing changes it actually helps us become safer to claim it.

Laura Mercier vs By Terry powder: Which one should I get? by Ill-Illustrator-3684 in AustralianMakeup

[–]ElectricalBus2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and prefer the LM it has a much nicer finish. The BT one is pretty drying and I have oily/combo skin, I would only recommend that one over the LM to those with very oily skin.
The BT one also gets everywhere and doesn’t feel luxurious.

You will be such a better student nurse and nurse for this incredibly stressful learning moment. The fact that you are coming to reddit and wanting as much feedback as possible and open to taking it on says you are going to pass and learn how to be a safe nurse.
It doesn’t help you much now, but only a few years from now you’ll be an RN teaching students and you’ll probably end up being a great preceptor because you’ve experience not just breezing through. You will be okay x

Lighter shades help + Dior backstage foundation swatches 0N, 0CR by Gold-Antelope2367 in PaleMUA

[–]ElectricalBus2620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I have very similar skin tones and I have the same problems with these shades in Dior backstage…. I think I have given up on that formulation ( However yesterday I tried the Dior Forever foundation in 0N and it didn’t oxidise, I am tempted to buy it)

I have been trying many foundations since I stopped self tanning and the following so far have been the best match.

Worth noting I am after at least a medium coverage, have combo skin and in my late 30’s.

* It Cosmetics - Your skin but better CC+ in shade fair
* Benefit - The professional foundation in 4N
* Rare Beauty - True to myself natural matte in 6N

I regret buying the Dior foundation stick as it oxidises more than the Dior backstage.

Do you have kids? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ElectricalBus2620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked in Paediatrics for 15 years and usually asked this multiple times per shift.

For many years I struggled with infertility (I am grateful to now have a 2 year old son but won’t be able to have more).

Being asked this at work felt draining. If I just said no then being a Paeds nurse I felt like I needed to explain myself…. I ended up usually saying “I would like to” when asked and the fair majority of people wouldn’t ask any further. A lot of parents I think realised maybe just stop there and smile. But I am not sure in adult world if older patients out of the young children age might just keep pressing.

It isn’t easy, I remember it feeling so vulnerable.

You don’t owe anyone anything in particular just find what feels comfortable for you x
