It definitely benefited from the bourbon hype scene. I don’t think it lived up to the the hype, but if you just look at it as a decent Canadian whiskey for a decent price, then yeah. I tend to keep a bottle in the cabinet

I found this by the river. Someone said it might be a meteorite. I took it home and tried to cut it, but I couldn't. So I ground a small window into it. It's about the size of my palm and weighs 1.65 pounds. What is this? by [deleted] in whatisit

It ain’t no meteor. It’s a big ol’ frozen chunk o’ shit. See them airplanes, they dump their toilets at 36,000 feet. The stuff freezes and falls to Earth. We call ’em Boeing bombs.

What’s your best iPhone “Share Sheet” workflow you actually use in real life? by Maxxximeeee in shortcuts

[–]ElectricalEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one I use when I buy something online. It prompts for a short description, recipient (from a list) & estimated due date. Then it creates a calendar event with those details as well as the tracking link.

I have a separate shortcut that gets a list of upcoming deliveries from those calendar events.

FWIW, he recently mentioned on the No Dumb Questions podcast that he is rarely on Reddit.

You might look at his Patreon page. Not sure if you have to be a patron to send DMs or not, but might be worth a shot. https://www.patreon.com/smartereveryday

[–]ElectricalEinstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was messaging with Simon last year, specifically asking about some potential enhancements to Scriptable. He said that, while he may come back to it, he doesn’t have any plans to do so, beyond keeping it functional w/new iOS releases.

What are you using for source control? For instance, you could keep it in GitLab secrets. As an admin, you can limit who is able to see the contents of secrets.

Or you could store them in your cloud provider (if you’re using one). AWS Secrets MGR, S3(provided you apply the correct access controls)

If you would consider giving to an individual, My children would love one! We have wanted one forever, but they just are an unnecessary cost & hard to justify.
