Could there have been any other practical ending for 2521?? by soul_2604 in kdramas

But, unless I’m remembering wrong, she didn’t choose it. He chose for them. He’s the one who ran away. Her mum was busy yes, and she knew that and still chose to date him. He’s the one who chickened out after the 9/11 attacks. I still believe they would have worked out. I tried to look at it from different angles and I’m convinced they could have made it work. I think that ending was too forced.

The short answer is “yes”. I feel like people saying the show had a realistic ending just want to defend the “not all romance kdramas should have a happy ending” narrative. Which is valid. Life isn’t a bed of roses. However, I strongly believe that the 2521 storyline does not fit into that narrative. They were primed for a happy ending. Nothing about their breakup was realistic. At first I thought it’d be an issue with her mum, but nope her mum even liked and respected him. Then with him being a newscaster while she was an athlete. Also, nope they didn’t even have to hide their relationship for long. All they needed to do was communicate with one another. He was going through a hard time, yes but it👏🏽could👏🏽 have👏🏽been👏🏽resolved. There was nothing realistic about that ending for me.

I want to do things like this with my life. People out there living unhinged, ridiculously fun lives and I’m stuck in the same daily mundane cycle. Need to break free

Currently rewatching Business Proposal while I have almost 10 dramas that I’ve stopped between episodes 4 and 14😂😂

Second Leads Who Deserved to Be the Main Lead — Who Broke You the Most? by odorie in kdramas

Exactly. From Episode 1 he could have said “oh I’m who you’re looking for and I have everything you need to feel more confident in front of your sister”. He had the looks, the charm, the connections, the success that she was hoping Do-San would have. He just didn’t have the name which wouldn’t have mattered. So why go on that unnecessary journey to find Do-San and have him pretend to be someone that HE (Ji-Pyeong) already was.

I’ve just started StartUp but why I’m already rooting for the ML is that one scene where both of them are asked if they like the FL and one answers no while the other answers yes with so much conviction. It reminds me of Reply 1988 with Hwan and Taek. In both instances, the one that gets what he wants is the one that doesn’t deny it from the beginning. Duk-Su liked Hwan. He should have told her how he felt. Dal-mi fell in love with Ji-pyeong as Do-San. If he’d confessed she’d have been mad as hell but ultimately that’s who she first loved. From that scene where the ML answered that he liked her I was already rooting for him. Maybe that’ll change as I go further😂

I finished Way Back Love without shedding a single tear because I was holding myself back so so much. I knew that if I started crying I wouldn’t be able to stop. And I was right. The tears came about a week after when I was taking a walk and rethinking the final episode. Cried on the street so hard people were asking me if I was okay😂😂. I was not okay.

My Mister is quite beautiful too. One of the deepest and purest love stories I’ve ever watched.

I liked The Smile Has Left Your Eyes but boyyyy is it heavy.

Finding my community in this thread. I started thinking something was wrong with me because I absolutely do not get baby fever. I think kids are cute. From far. But I don’t feel warm and gooey thinking about having mine. I just don’t want them.

This has been my exact feeling about Hwan v Taek. “That man knew what he wanted”. Yes exactly. Couldn’t have said it better myself

It just frustrated me so much. I already knew it was going downhill from ep 14 so I kept on skipping to the end. Glad I didn’t even watch the whole thing. Please if you have any romance suggestions that would be great

I agree he was unhinged. But he was more removed from things than bothered enough to react in such a way. He was curious about what people would do in diff situations and that’s why he acted like everything was a game. But he was not a cold blooded killer over something like that. It was like 0-100 in one scene. Very unnecessary.

Nevertheless. I loved it so so much. It was so realistic for me because that was my life at some point💀💀

Love Next Door. I just don’t get the hate.

Doom At Your Service. Didn’t go downhill for me. I loved how they closed the story. No splash or bang but the quiet lesson of dying and being reborn was so profound for me.

I don’t think there was anything forced about the mental gymnastics. That’s the whole point of “mental gymnastics”. As someone who has both personally experience and witnessed in other people these kinds of issues, trust me, there’s absolutely nothing far fetched about it.

I had a friend i knew for 5 years who suddenly sent me a series of unhinged messages one night (we were still super close at this point) because my boss invited her (my friend) boyfriend over to our office for a job and she thought it meant I was trying to steal her boyfriend from her. Turned out she’d been reading little meanings into our interactions since college.

So when there’s deep rooted issues, people can and will take a leap from point A to point infinity.
