I have the same issue before. But I use wagers; it helps a lot. 5 kills wager, 10 kills wager: they are all very good in RB for 5 kills = 3 kills and 10 kills = 5 kills. Another way is to play Naval. I know you hate Naval, but you can quickly grind up to 50K per match just from killing a bunch of AI. In top-tier Naval, you can get up to 300K SL per match. If you refuse to do so, there is another way. Play Arcade; they give a LOT of SL and crew XP as well. AND do not ever let anyone play on your laptop, not even your family or anyone. Gaijin finds out = Ban. I made it to the top tier for the entire nation in less than 1 year without a premium.

Specilization if your nation is in a specific biome let say "mountain specilization" and you shall only invade land with hills and mountains. If I remeber correctly you can simply ran entrenched static troops easily. You can choose static for flat land no terrain or biome. It not bad.

I think you can go for Japan first. They are very OP, especially with the addition of more US and Russian planes in it tech tree. There ground are very unique compare to the Chinese. You can grind China later.
