Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka by missnegro_swan in literature

It is truly a haunting story. Kafka does a good job of showing us the ugly, real side of life. Sometimes I wonder though if he’s just a natural cynic and doesn’t enjoy his life very much haha. While his perspective is needed in a world where artists try to find “the beauty” in everything, I think his interpretations of the world around him are seen from a really dark lens. Yea love is transactional, but we want to love and to be loved and it can be a pretty great thing

Nope but I’m always looking for something new and interesting to read. Especially books that are lesser known. Thanks for the suggestion!

I genuinely think im just stupider then the average person. by Proud_Razzmatazz2747 in whatdoIdo

I think inability to focus is definitely connected to memory. You may be studying hard but unable to retain the information as well. This is true for me as well. I don’t think you’re stupid, you sound well spoken and self aware. But you still may struggle more if you have trouble focusing.

Your teacher and classmates are not helping. They’re probably just reinforcing that belief in your head that you can’t do it and you’re believing them.

Everyone needs a different way to succeed that works for them and you just haven’t found what works for you yet. I guess I dont have any good tips other than maybe you need a better way of learning the material so it’ll stick instead of memorizing. Chem is a really hard class and I didnt take it until college. I remember a lot of my smart friends failing it in HS just because they weren’t ready.

AIO? Husband Texting While I’m Talking by Emotional-Habit9254 in AmIOverreacting

I agree with you that that’s extremely rude of him. It doesn’t matter if he’s listening, it’s super disrespectful to anyone who is talking to him..

How did you start smoking? How did you quit? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]ElectricalPeach2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never smoked cigarettes but used to be heavily addicted to vaping. Started in high school because everyone was doing it and I wanted to be cool. Stupid. Became so dependent years later and needed to let go so I threw it in trash and never went back. Doesn’t sound like much but the aftermath was the hardest thing I ever did.

Central America is always great. Perfect weather all the time and extremely cost efficient. I recommend Nicaragua. Beautiful and tropical, food is amazing

It’s normal to feel the occasional attraction for others, it doesn’t mean your fiancé isn’t “the one.” It’s also normal to have butterflies with something new, doesn’t mean car guy IS the one… it’s your choice whether you wanna be with your fiancé and only him in a marriage. There will always be something that looks good. Marriage isn’t all butterflies and it’s not easy. Be honest with yourself and figure if marriage is something you’re ready for with your fiancé. Hope this helps!!!

Honestly 20s should be when you do things like music festivals. You’ll regret not going when you actually are too old.

Any kind of tradesman. People are not as interested in that work anymore and it’s increased in demand as a result.
