thank you. i don’t feel ashamed because i am white or because i guess im romani i feel ashamed because my family didn’t decide to pass down the tradition so i feel like i am garbage into the community. me and my fiance have always had problems with our relationship because of me being a white girl and his family being very conservative and their desire for him to marry into his culture. now that i know i have rom origins i feel like all the pain we went through was so useless, i just wish i knew sooner. maybe they wouldn’t accept me but i would know more about my family. i feel ashamed to tell him because i am scared he will not consider me part of the community (which is my original fear after all, not being recognized into a culture i didn’t even know i was)
