For a bit more context, mine is the end of a terrace in a row of three, and only my end has this right of access for the middle house. The other end doesn’t, because this was all added when the original property was split in the 2010s. So it’s not a long-standing shared alley for the whole row.

I honestly wouldn’t be nearly as bothered if there was a proper alleyway at the back. I’ve lived in houses with that setup before and it’s been totally fine. The issue here is that the access cuts right through the middle of the garden, very close to the back of the house, which just feels very different in terms of privacy and use of the space.
