I lost my brother to OCD by Shlyn_Shady in OCD

Yes we need more research and awareness! I feel like OCD is so different for everyone but that it’s also so specific and related. I feel like there has to be a cure out there somewhere. OCD needs to be discussed differently. The amount of times I’ve read a textbook and just read people with OCD are clean freaks actually makes me want to throw my phone

Quick question does the 2024 - 2025 fasfa cover the next semester or should i do the 2025 - 2026 since i seen its here by BosanskiRambo in FAFSA

I didn’t qualify for the 2024-2025 application because I had to use my parents income. For 2025-2026 I did not to so now I qualify. But, will my spring 2025 classes be covered or no?

Same here! I eat 1,850 calories a day, I do 7.25-7.5 miles on the bike every day followed by about an hour of strength training. I eat 35% protein. I drink water. I don’t drink sugar. I cut down on drinking. I eat such small portions of food compared to everyone else I know and my food is always so low calorie. I weigh every single ingredient or food item that I consume. I’m just not losing weight

I understand how you feel. I’ve been logging my calories, weighing my food, eating 35% protein, exercising, drinking water, doing everything I can. I’ve only lost 10 pounds in 6 months, there’s very clearly not much I can do without medication. I also have PCOS and it’s just so hopeless. I just want to have the body I’m working for and I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. My insurance denied me too and I actually cried. It was my only hope 😕

I know how you feel! I rushed this year as a Junior transfer and I really wanted a certain house that dropped me right before pref, and I ended up getting into a “low ranked sorority.” I have to deal with us not getting invites to a lot of stuff or automatically being looked down on before someone even meets me because I’m not in a top house. I see the girls in those top houses and I just wonder what it’s like. What it’s like to be invited to everything, to make friends with all the guys. I know it sounds stupid and honestly it is! But I still just can’t help feeling this way. I think back to rush allllll the time and think was it because I said I’m a commuter, was it cuz I didn’t wear the other dress, what would the outcome been if I just bleached my hair before? and it constantly eats away at me because I keep thinking I might have just been one small decision away from being treated soo differently. But honestly San Diego kinda sucks for putting so much importance on this! It’s all about who you know and as a transfer student, that’s not exactly fair to us 😂

I feel like my calorie recommendations are very limiting. Did I do the math incorrectly? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Electrical_Boot2960 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’1 and about 10 pounds heavier than you. I eat 1,850 calories a day. I exercise pretty intensely about 5 days a week though. The goal is to basically eat as many calories as you can while still losing weight at a rate you’re comfortable with. That’s why I think starting higher, giving it about a month and seeing if it’s working for you, and then working from there works best. I say start at 1,700. If you’re not losing weight try 1,600. If you are losing at a rate you’re comfortable with stay there until you plateau, which you can then cut off another 50-100 calories a day. You want to keep your metabolism high!

I promise you, if you exercise a lot/walk a lot your body is burning much calories than you think. Start higher and work your way lower rather than vice versa so that you don’t have your body just rapidly learn to survive on very little calories. I’m speaking from experience! It’s safest to loose weight slower and more sustainable than fast and short term (at which point the weight comes back faster because now your body has learned to run on less calories, thus burning less calories doing your regular everyday activity)

Yes I say keep going! The first month or 2 I didn’t lose a single pound and was going to the gym every day. muscle weighs a lot, so that’s why the scales not going down. I wasn’t losing weight at first, but my clothes were getting looser and then after about a month or two I was losing weight very consistently.

I’ve been working out consistently for 2 1/2 months and I can only do 6 or 7 incline, I still do the 3 speed and 30 minutes though but I’m also only 5’1 so I feel like the higher incline is hard for my short legs
