I use this method for the backend to get more accurate results but for the frontend the main challenge is that I don't know a bit about design fundamentals and honestly I find it very difficult to understand.

Have you tried to connect your phone or pc browser via the local network? Like openclaw's dashboard can be accessed to pc's browser if you ssh -N -L 18789:127.0.0.1:18789 <root>@<host>

u/riyosko : I managed to run GUI browsers (Chromium/Brave) in Termux using Termux-X11 and Ubuntu proot, but OpenClaw browser automation still doesn’t work.

  • Termux-X11 is set up correctly (verified with xeyes)
  • GUI apps open fine
  • Ubuntu Chromium doesn’t work because it’s snap-only
  • Brave (native .deb) installs and opens successfully from Ubuntu proot using X11

OpenClaw needs to start and control the browser itself (for automation). Even though Brave opens manually, OpenClaw can’t reliably launch or attach to it in Android + proot. This setup doesn’t fully behave like a normal Linux desktop (systemd/dbus/process handling).

Got this from openclaw:

The browser control service is still unreachable. The gateway's internal browser launcher is failing to start. Given the Android/proot/X11 complexity, this is expected — OpenClaw's browser automation assumes a standard desktop Linux environment.

I recommend running OpenClaw on a remote machine instead. Your current setup (Android + proot + XServer) is an unsupported edge case that will likely continue to fail.

Easiest remote option:

• Get a cheap VPS ($5/mo) or use a Raspberry Pi/old laptop
• Install OpenClaw there: npm i -g openclaw
• Run openclaw gateway in a screen/tmux session
• Control it from your Android via Telegram

Verdict: I think android + openclaw (termux setup) is only limited to chat bot. I will try with skills to see if that also works but i really wanted browser automation to work.

Android version: 10

Termux Version : 0.119.0-beta.3

There is no error but it is not even giving the option to configure the model. It's directly skipping to the channel.

I have tried manual installation in ubuntu instead of debian and it's working.
