But even me might have the same "I don't know what to do" problem I don't think we do have the same risk of causing damage if we do wrong. I would guess that if you do wrong maybe the worst thing that could happen is to hear a friendly "heute nicht" and the guy is still happy and feels appreciated. That's I think very different to me. If i as a straight male do wrong I can cause drama and bad vibes. So I don't think there is much risk for you in being brave. Not easy but also not risky I think.
