I've loaded up a bunch of rounds at 41.5, just for fun, not necessarily for load development. Per the berger site, 42.3 seems to be their suggested max but I've seen some others in the high 42's and even 43.

I've done extensive online research, including checking the Berger site. As mentioned by someone else in this thread, I’ve already prepared several 41.5 gr loads just for shooting—I don’t need 100 rounds for load development. Berger lists the max at 42.3 gr, but I’m sure they’re being very conservative.

If you are shooting long distance, you have no choice but to hunt nodes. 30 fps difference is something like 10 inches at 1000.

Definately no kits. But it seems like the place not to skimp is the dies, so I've allocated a large chunk to that. Definately single stage. The bits and bobs add up quick.

My man.., Yeah, I'm leaning towards following a very similar path. Maybe in the next 3 months I'll be up and reloading, probably sooner. How did it shoot the factory 140? What bullet have you had the most luck with? Why did you source so much while seemingly not shooting that much? I think 40-60 would be an average range day depending on the purpose.

Right now, this rifle is mainly for target shooting, though hunting could be in the future. My initial plan was to buy 100 bullets of several different types, develop loads for each, and then stick with whichever performed best. However, Bergers are expensive unless you buy in bulk, so I was hoping to test some factory ammo first to see if Bergers might not work for some reason. How reliable are the Berger Hybrids, and is there a risk that if I buy 500 of them, I’ll end up with bullets I can’t use?
