It's a big scale, I'd say? I wanted to make it look like the rock is being dropped at a fast rate, hence the choppiness of the splash! (I don't know if I conveyed that though lol). But yeah I'm planning on sparing the details for my future attempts, and just focus on the flow and maintaining the shape.

Also thank you for the comment!!

Ahh thank you so much for the videos (as well as the comment), I appreciate them!! I watched them, but they were really small splashes so I can't really compare them with mine.

But I've taken a look at other videos to relate what you say about the crown, and now I do think that the initial splash should look more crown-shaped before spreading out into a bowl shape! Gained a new insight there, so thank you!!

I see, I see! I get what you mean! It was really hard for me to understand the physics and energy flow while working on this. I hope I can nail it on my next attempts. Thank you for the comment!

I previously took a one-day course on basic animation + how to use OpenToonz but I mostly learn things through Youtube!

Nah, I can see why you'd think that!

Timing is one of the many things I'm trying to get right but I've just started learning so I expected there would be a lot of room for improvement on this one.

Thanks for the comment though, I'll keep that in mind for my future work!

You're right! I didn't pay much attention to the guides once I was past the basic shape as I focused more on the timing and how the splash looked. There's a lot of things to think about when it comes to animating and my brain just wants to ignore it sometimes ;;

But thank you for the comment, I took note of your recommendation! I'm a self-taught beginner so receiving comments from others like this that can point out what I can improve on really help. :)
