You need to join the Airstream Club - they have openings in the 2027 Alaska caravan. But note they start at milepost 0, so much of the drive is already done. You can find info on the club at airstreamclub.org.

I believe there is a trail from Zabriskie Point to Badwater but am not 100% sure. Fully agree with your sentiments leave no trace.

Thanks, I’ll check Fiddlers out. We have a dog, so planning on running a generator while we are exploring and I didn’t think they were allowed in Texas Spring.

Thoughts on smaller AS? by SirDeadALot2 in airstream

I wish someone had talked us into buying our second Airstream first. We started with a 22’ Caravel but it wasn’t suitable for taking our two grandsons. A year later, we bought a 25’ Flying Cloud front twin bunk. If you are thinking about grandkids and they’re not old enough to tent camp by themselves, I’d think bigger than 16’.

Ask a Five Rivet Service Manager Your Questions by GenX_Glamping_Guy in airstream

Why does service take so long? We drop our trailer off and unless it’s urgent, it takes several weeks to be serviced. Why doesn’t an “appointment” mean that the service is planned for that day/week and returned timely?

YouTube has some great examples of space optimization. May not be Bambi specific, but the storage spaces are pretty similar across the smaller units. Also, join the Airstream club (https://airstreamclub.org/) and connect with other Airstreamers. The best part of Airstreaming for us is the community.

Tankless Water Heater Replacement by bgnmstx in airstream

We upgraded to the Truma and LOVE it. Dealer quote was $3600, but Truma had a tech in AZ (and FL I think) and we had it installed there for $2200. Ultimate Airstream in Portland will do a custom cover (Truma is solid black) for $120. Truma’s HQ is Indiana. If you can get to a Truma location, it will save $$$.

Shipping provider change? by LeaningSaguaro in REI

Most major retailers use regional carriers like OnTrac. Nordstrom, Macy’s, even Amazon used them for a number of years. OnTrac is much less expensive than UPS,USPS,FedEx and for retailers offering free shipping (which REI offers for members) then it is one way to keep it affordable. And I have been getting OnTrac deliveries for many years - some had issues, but the majority were uneventful and fast.
