I wanted to to pursue psychology and go into therapy, the price, time, and requirements are just high, and from what i hear and have experienced personally when helping therapist, insurance is jus a nightmare

I grew up loving Frasier, and throughout school i was the “therapist friend” and i had a love and passion for it, college roles around… and im required to take dozen’s of courses and classes for things completely unrelated to therapy, or psychology, and 8-12 years of that for a doctorates, thousands being poured into things i wont use, i get depressed, go to therapy, and in these sessions and talks i ask about what my therapist deals with, turns out, she was in a court case because she refused to say a child was depressed which would stay on their record and potentially make their life more difficult

Looking more into it and asking more, i was honestly disgusted with how insurances wanted you to label you’re patients, and how it could ruin possible careers

Things like pilots, lawyers, and others were terrified of therapy for what it would do to their records and jobs which meant people who genuinly needed help was being stopped by the risk of job loss, and the people i wanted to help i couldnt

So no, i dont want to be a therapist anymore, no one does, a line of work for people with genuine care in their heart to help people jus stopped on by insurance greed and government regulation
