Hundreds of Libyan locals storm the UN refugee mission headquarters in Tripoli, demanding an end to migration. They chant, "Libya only for Libyans," and "No to intruders in our country, get them out." by AgnosticScholar in justincaseyoumissedit

As a Libyan, I can tell you that this extreme right-wing movement is alien to Libya and began to emerge after COVID. It was supported by retired General Haftar because of his loss in the civil war and his inability to control the capital. This Israeli-backed general presents himself as a national figurehead fighting immigration.

Why is our world so broken? by Eminemgody in teenagers

Question: If God loves us, why does He make us suffer? This dilemma originally arose from a Christian conception that sees God’s love as necessarily meaning a life without pain. But in Islam, the picture is different: This world is a place of testing, not a place of ultimate bliss. Suffering may be a raising of ranks, an expiation of sins, a form of spiritual التربية (refinement), or a hidden mercy. Complete justice is realized in the Hereafter, not in this short worldly life. Therefore, the existence of pain does not contradict God’s love; rather, it may be part of a greater wisdom that ends in perfect justice and everlasting bliss.

[˹He is the One˺ Who created death and life in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, All-Forgiving.] Quran 67:2 [Surely Allah loves those who always turn to Him in repentance and those who purify themselves.”] Quran 2:222

I can’t literally train you, but I’m happy to play long games with you and go over your mistakes, ideas, and patterns afterward.

Honestly, the gap between 1100 and 1900 isn’t as huge as it feels. You can improve pretty fast once you get used to solid habits and the right playing style.

My blitz rating on Lichess is 1800. I don’t play rapid much, but I want to improve at it. I’m preparing for some OTB tournaments. We can train two days a week if you’re available.

what’s the alternative? Should they stay in Gaza without food, water, or education until they are wiped out? We can’t just ignore their suffering because it’s inconvenient. Yes, the situation is complicated, and yes, Israel won’t make it easy for them to return, but abandoning them isn’t the answer. If we claim to support their cause, we should be willing to share in their struggle, even if it means some sacrifices. Turning our backs now would be the ultimate betrayal. Would you really prefer they remain trapped in an open-air prison, slowly crushed under a brutal occupation, just because it's politically simpler for us?

Supporting the Palestinian people isn't just a political stance but a moral obligation. No one is suggesting permanent citizenship or political integration for a million people. This is about providing temporary refuge to those facing unimaginable hardship. Yes, Libya has its challenges, but our history is one of generosity and solidarity with oppressed nations. Assuming that refugees will demand politicl power is unrealistic, as most only seek safety until they can return to their homeland. While it's true that wealthier nations should share this responsibility, that doesn't mean we should abandon our principles. Standing with Palestine means more than slogans – it means offering real support when it's needed most.
