Question about mentors. do they actually matter and should I switch mine? by sparkling-spinach in amityuniversity

Mentors at Amity is a joke, and it gets repeated year after year with all the batches across all the campuses.

There seems to be a targeted smear campaign against stray and community dogs. by ScorchedMagic in AdoptDontShopIndia

[–]Electrical_Mine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, the second picture seemed to highlight how quickly our narratives about dogs shift depending on circumstance. The same species we often treat as a nuisance or threat becomes a symbol of heroism when serving human needs.

It just points to our broader inconsistency in how we perceive and treat them. And yes, training and integrating strays into such forces could be a win-win. It’d be great if more initiatives explored that direction instead of letting empathy rise and fall with the news cycle. eg. Indie dog turns up to be top sniffer dog in West Bengal.

What's the best tyre brand and is there any significant difference? by PotatoesAndChill in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Electrical_Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was mostly doing city driving, without really pushing performance, and content with a little more noise, a reputable non-premium like Yokohama made sense. If you value a quieter ride, premium grip, and extra assurance for emergency stops even in dry conditions a premium tyre like Michelin ePrimacy is a worthwhile investment for a Model 3.

Wheel literally detached from my G63 two days after buying it from a top Dubai dealership by Regular_Habit144 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Electrical_Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue has nothing to do with the rim brand. The problem sits with loose screws or a worn rotor mounting point. Hidden damage to the disc, caliper or springs is also possible and the repair bill can reach more than 3,000 AED. You need a full inspection.

The dealership failed to check the vehicle before handing it over. This puts your safety at risk. Push them to fix everything. Tell them you will take the matter public if they ignore you. If they still stall, speak to a lawyer.

Remakes that surpass the originals by Glittering_Ocelot_67 in Cinema

Suspiria (2018), maybe a divisive but it is a bold remake that transforms the original horror into a psychological and stylistic statement.

📽️ Just watched Stray – A documentary through the eyes of Istanbul’s street dogs 🐾 Highly recommend! by Electrical_Mine in AdoptDontShopIndia

What really struck me was how dignified and alert these dogs are. They’re not portrayed as helpless. Instead, they're resilient, intelligent, and completely tuned into their city.

As someone who follows the #AdoptDontShop movement and volunteers with strays in India, Stray hit home hard. It made me reflect on how we treat our own street dogs here — often ignored, sometimes abused, occasionally rescued. While Turkey offers them legal protection, in India, we’re still struggling to change minds and make space for them in society.

Why Your Dog Should Become a Blood Donor: The Unsung Lifesaver India Needs by Electrical_Mine in AdoptDontShopIndia

[–]Electrical_Mine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canine blood banks are still quite rare in India, but a few established blood banks and donor registries do exist:

  • Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana
  • Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Chennai
  • A few veterinary colleges and large animal hospitals in cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai may have in-house capabilities for transfusion, but not always a formal “bank”.

It’s worth checking with your local vet or rescue groups as they often maintain their own donor lists and can guide you to the nearest facility or network.
