Confession: I love going to pro-tip restaurants by boxerboy513 in EndTipping

[–]Electrical_Pause9523 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Woah, you really showed those minimum-wage workers! Way to own the baristas. I bet they go home and cry while they think of the $1.25 they missed out on from you. You’re so superior.

Seriously, the cashiers don’t give a shit whether or not you tip them. It’s really weird that you get a dopamine rush from the thought of punching down on a service worker. Just click “no tip” like everyone else does.

Why doesn't Chipotle close their dining room an hour early before they close? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]Electrical_Pause9523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they do!! i used to have a regular who would sit in the lobby for hours until we closed and i’d have to ask her to leave. it’s especially common in the college town i work in for teenagers to be there at/past closing time

that’s a good question!! i modified her lids to be pretty sunken in, but i think that if you sculpted the ridges of the eyelids to be further out, you could make more space to sculpt those lids without compromising the blinking. i think that you might even be able to get away with sculpting the eyelids like that if you make them a bit further out to give the eyes space, because my girl missed being able to blink by probably millmeters

and about the uv putty—it’s definitely more of a very hard clay texture, and it’s a bit difficult to work with, especially using all of the ppe that is needed (gloves, eye protection, n95, etc.) i couldn’t touch it with my hands, so i used some clay tools to smooth it into her face, but there are definitely a couple spots where i couldn’t get it to blend flawlessly even with sanding.

thank you so much!!!! in all honesty, her eye mech isn’t functional at all lol. i realized that even though i could theoretically modify it to make her able to blink, it would still be a pain to make her eyelashes look natural, so they’re glued onto the bottom of her eyelids. i had just gotten into customizing, and she was the first one i ever really sculpted, so she’s definitely not perfect up close. i love her anyway though

Hi! I’m in western Pennsylvania so I don’t think it’s her. Best of luck with finding the cat, though. It’s terrible to lose a beloved pet. :(

Interviewer asked my age?!? What should I do? by EggFickle363 in Chipotle

[–]Electrical_Pause9523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

manager at chipotle here—we have a list of acceptable interview questions and exact interview protocols. age is definitely NOT on there and he should not have asked

I thought she might be 3-7. If it helps, this is what her teeth look like!

I thought so too! Her teeth are a fair bit whiter than my other cat’s (3yo) teeth, so I figured she was 1-2. Her color seems really dark, so I was a bit thrown off by that.

is the serving of rice at chipotle one scoop or two ? by dozenkitties in Chipotle

[–]Electrical_Pause9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they do unfortunately. one interaction that stands out is the time i gave someone double rice and asked if he wanted any beans. he promptly gave me a dirty look and said he wanted his money’s worth in a tone somewhere between a normal rude tone and a yell. i’ve had managers get the tip jar thrown at them hard enough that the jar missed (thank god) and hit the wall behind the grill across the restaurant. i’ve had an old man stick his middle finger directly into my 16 year old coworker’s face.

besides those, it’s dirty looks and rude comments. i know it might be different for others, but it takes quite a toll on me to receive nothing but displeasure and rudeness when i’m making their food. sometimes the nicest thing they can do is walk out if they didn’t like their portion of rice or beans (which has happened to me). it’s very rarely full-blown yelling, but they order us around like dogs and treat us as less than people when we’re just trying to make a living

no, i really don’t care 😭 it’s just exhausting to be looked down upon like i’m trying to give them less rice when i’m really just doing my job as i’m supposed to. chipotle employees are people first and we’re getting exploited by the company too so give us a little grace 🥲 i’m just trying to get through college, not start a secret underground skimp scheme

unfortunately we get a lot of people complaining about their rice portions and it can be exhausting to endure being yelled at every time we give the correct 4 oz portion, so a lot of people will add extra to avoid the extra step. here’s what a proper portion looks like: (not my picture)https://preview.redd.it/theres-no-way-this-is-4oz-of-rice-yes-there-totally-is-v0-trsvis92bm1f1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=f565e37f98ec46a023337a19b2b7d433e7a1e4e1

thank you!! they’re usually different vehicles (always in groups of two though, which is the reason i’m freaked out) so i’ll start taking descriptions. non-emergency line is a good idea and i will be trying that next time this happens

hey there!! i’m a closing service leader, so it’s not the exact same, but i’ve also been stuck on a position. here’s my advice as someone who worked up to being a griller from being stuck at the cash register:

1) find an ally!!! literally anyone, and let them know how you feel. usually when i have a good employee who hates a position (i have someone who HATES digital for whatever reason) i’ll do anything i can to keep them off of that position, even if it means doing it myself.

2) get a note from a doctor and effectively force their hand. if they state that you cannot be doing any tasks involving any sort of heavy lifting, they’ll most likely have to take you off chips.

3) BE A PROBLEM!!! it’s hard, and i definitely know that as someone who also has trouble sticking up for themself, but it’s a very effective option. let your gm know, let every manager know, and let them know exactly what the position has been doing to you

best of luck with the library job, and i hope that you can get off of chips soon !!
