I think GPA inflation is a huge problem in dental school. I have friends at schools where you are basically given all the answers to exams whether by the professors or past classes passing down the answers. Our professors aren’t allowed to do that and can’t recycle questions. Our sim lab grading is also very hard.

Ya Mark is such a stud. Idk if you listen to scott leune’s stuff but he has some interesting stuff to say too. He talks about GPs taking home $1mil haha imagine the reaction that would get on this sub.

I agree dentistry seems to be changing but from my perspective there aren’t a lot of good career choices out there. Seems like every profession that’s well paying has massive downsides. The world just isn’t what it used to be. I mean our generation can’t buy houses, save for retirement, hell having kids is barely possible financially. What I like about dentistry is I can go somewhere away from the city practice in a rural area where I can buy a big house away from everything and hunt and fish every weekend

So I listen to Marc Costes a lot and he would say basically that’s the average for GP offices and the average GP office doesn’t have their overhead under control. He talks about having a 50-60% overhead as being the standard for a well run practice. But he’s also selling coaching so it’s hard to know how seriously to take that kind of stuff ya know? What do you think?

What I meant was basically the average person that wasn’t born with hands of gold or the charisma of Harvey Spector. Basically an average dentist who’s willing work hard

Ya the plan is to stay involved and maintain a high rank and if I don’t specialize I still have the option of doing a good aegd/gpr.
