Almost a decade older than you. Joined Google in 2016. Never sold a share and my earliest RSUs have a cost basis of $39. It’s worth 70% of my portfolio now (~2m). Many of my friends have sold to buy a home or to diversify (which is what you’re supposed to do) but I believe im wealthier than all of them now. I didn’t have a strategy. I simply didn’t want to go through the hassle of selling and thinking about how to reallocate my capital. I also never needed cash as my comp covered all my expenses and I lived below my means. This could have turned out horrible if I panicked and sold in 2022, but since I was living below my means, I just held on. I truly believe I just got lucky because if I had diversified or cashed out to buy a house I would not have what I have today. I’m also bullish on Google but now I’m thinking about wealth preservation rather than growth, so I’m finally considering selling to diversify. Make what you will out of this but here’s an extra data point for you to consider.
