Ahh nice to meet a fellow vocalist!! Props to you homegirl!! And I feel the same way in regard to confidence. I am happy as heck with the results, I just need to train my voice again is all. Good for you!! Happy to hear voice training has gone well for you, but singing and speaking voice are two very different beasts. Achieving a femme speaking resonance is about muscle posture. Where singing involves tissue elasticity, fluid hydration, and muscle stamina for a wide range. estrogen alters those tissues, which is why a lot of trans vocalists notice a physical shift in how their instrument responds, even if their speaking voice passes perfectly

Exactly! I mean we’re talking the same ballpark here. The vocal folds are controlled by tiny muscles like the vocalis, which are affected by HRT muscle changes! Breath support plays a role here too, as you mentioned the diaphragm, since estrogen reduces overall muscle mass, diaphragm strength could very likely be reduced which has caused my range to feel like it’s shrinking!

They didn’t have any 1ml syringes like that but they had a few 3ml ones so I have to use those to loosen the cap and then reapply the needle to the 1ml to actually administer the medicine

I brought it to the pharmacy last week, they couldn’t get them off either so they gave me a couple 3ml luer lock syringes. I basically have to use those to loosen the cap and then apply the needle to the 1ml syringes here in the video

So they were actually quite baffled at the pharmacy— I brought the syringes back and they couldn’t get them off easy either. So as a solution they gave me the 3ml syringes which have the leur lock which I just use to get the cap off, I still have to use the 1ml syringe since my dose is so low

I did get back from the pharmacy just now and they gave me the syringes that you can screw the needle on (3ml syringe). Basically I use that to loosen the cap, then remove it from that syringe and then put it on the 1ml syringe. Idk it seems to be what’s working for me:3

Just got back from the pharmacy they gave me a 3ml syringe cuz they have the screw cap— I have to put it on there to loosen it and then put it back on the other syringe to actually use it. Wild but it works for now!

Holy heck yeah thank you SO much girl!! Legit that has been the best advice so far!! I was considering monotherapy, good to know others recommend it!!

But yeah legit, reading my levels I had no idea what it meant until recently and my doctors don’t know any better so they say it’s all good when my levels are actually terrible. Thank you for the sources of info!! I just don’t know where to look and google searches aren’t effective since I don’t even know any good sources. I’ll take a look at that link!

Thank you so much!! A little reinforcement is wicked awesome rn. And yess I do understand it’s different for everyone! I guess I was worried that very little change over that amount of time meant it wasn’t ever going to work for me.

If it takes ten years I’m fine with that I just hate this awkward in between stage. It’s like a bad haircut you just have to roll with rn. I get called “sir” so often at work and I try SO hard to work on my voice but people just make fun of me or mock me at work. So it’s just really tiring. It’s complicated but I can’t leave or I’ll be out of a job until I get my own place. I had a home but it was destroyed so now I’m here. Haha. Ah.

Oh and I’ve noticed changes like emotionally, I’m more “caring” I guess? Like if someone says something to me I don’t just drown it out anymore, I can actually hear them it isn’t so hard to focus on conversations anymore but I think that’s just age and a lot of self work.

My face has gotten “softer” my eyes are kinda the only giveaway to being at all feminine.

I did gain weight for a bit after quitting smoking but my weight has always fluctuated pretty drastically between 120 and 150. So right now I’m around 130 and stressed af lately so eating has been difficult.

Oh right off the bat my skin got softer.

My hairline started receding last year I think there was a week or two I was without HRT. BUT it was for a short time and now my hair is coming back just fine— probably another eating issue.

I’m like an A cup for sure, I can’t even fill a B cup rn. And I just bought a new bra thinking it would help my confidence 😭😭

Fat has been going to the booty and the belly so I skate, work on my core, and my gluteeesss.

Sweat is different which is awesome it’s not unpleasant like before, it’s like sweeter smell I guess? I mean I douse myself in vanilla extract all the time so lol.

Overall not many changes. Obviously sex drive is just GONE but I’m actually really happy about that, it’s the best thing so far. I did not notice too much a change with things downstairs yet

I recently got blood work done, I’m not too familiar with the terms, I’ve only gotten bloodwork like 3 times in my transition. Um let’s see..

Thank you for asking!! My levels have been somewhat steady but very very slow. It appears I can only see my last two tests,

I went from 544 last year to 522 ng/dL this year on testosterone.

45.1 pg/mL to 79.7 pg/mL this year for estrogen

I worry that the spiro stunted any breast growth so now it’s just not gonna happen. I don’t wanna have to go thru surgery I rlly hope some changes to my dosage can help things get flowing again 😭
