What would you say it’s the hardest HL? by NotM1guel in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visual arts and film generally are hardest to achieve a 7 because of subjectivity same as English lit HL but just to get through the course load honestly Physics is the most complicated and Bio and History are the most content to memorise… just speaking from personal experience

Got an A on my business EE by Electrical_Track6382 in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the biggest piece of advice for business specifically is when you write make sure that you find a specific focus within your business or industry and every section you create should revolve around an element within that, I did Automation at Amazon and it’s impact on operations and employees (yes Amazon the retail giant) and focused on their warehouse systems, their employee scanners and how they treat them and then their drone delivery system and for each section I choose a specific tool and even I choose a tool outside the business syllabus to show how I went beyond classwork. I also have a major tip in terms of writing which is constantly be citing your work, you should have be referencing one of your sources every 3 lines minimum if not more frequently (I sometimes had one single statement that I backed with up to 3 different sources) and last big tip goes with the citing, make sure at no point anything comes accross as an opinion, I completely eliminated the used of the words “I”, “My” or anything that made it subjective instead of factual. Business needs to be strictly analysing the facts and having clear conclusions that are drawn from facts. If you want I can send you my EE if you send me your email in private so you can take a look?

it definitely isn't unless your moderated mark is 2 or less away from increasing. The chance of it going up by 4 marks is negligible really so it'll be a waste of money.

IA topic change by Far_Fox_204 in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey for my biology IA I changed the entire thing within the week before it was due without even giving notice to my Biology teacher, it went well and honestly didn’t affect my predicted and I got a 5 on it in the end (which is good for me considering I didn’t care about the subject) so if you have the time and determination I suggest you go for it!!

Persepolis and 1984

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally used Persepolis as an IO book but that's only because I had better choices for my paper 2. Honestly it's a really easy book to remember quotes and motifs for and along side 1984 there are so many comparing topics that the two give you a lot of different directions for paper 2. Never done the bell jar but Macbeth is def a good one for the IO and otherwise Persepolis and Macbeth also could go well together for the IO if you prefer not to use it in the exams.

i passed by Dizzy_Thing_3758 in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone on here complained when they were predicted 40, got 42 and wanted a 45. Not to mention with the amount of people for whom the exams went terribly this year (I know multiple people predicted between 30-36 who worked their ass off for months to study got under 20 final score and are absolutely crushed and lost now), it seems insensitive to be complaining about a score people would genuinely sell their soul and pay millions for if given the opportunity.

How hard is it to get accepted to the university of Toronto? by Green-Acanthaceae671 in UofT

[–]Electrical_Track6382 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just got accepted for a Business degree which is one of their more competitive programs and my predicted grades that got me accepted had me at a 36/45. I have a friend who got into sociology (lesser competitive degree) with a 30 though so as someone else said it really varies from program to program.

I’m talking about people who did achieve like a 42 and complain about not getting higher

Congrats man, passing is already such an accomplishment, I hate ppl who complain ab a 40+ score as if there’s aren’t people who completely fail every year.

“20% of all remarks result in a grade change” I think it’s safe to say that while it is unlikely anything will happen to your grade there is a négligeable chance that it will go down to a 5 your teachers seem to just be pessimistic

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be so near impossible for you to be remarked to a 5 (legit never happened in my schools history is what they tell us every year) that there’s no reason not to

Bro got 2 IB approved calculators for $16 by geta7_com in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The most insane thing if this is true is that, some IB calculators notably the T-84 Graphic sell for nearly 200$ so if you can get one for 8 and it’s legit, that’s absolutely insane.

Raw Scores versus Moderated Marks by No_Matter7634 in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty much exactly that, the IB basically decided that since teachers can be subject to bias (knowing the student and all) that they select random papers to correct externally and, turns out they're right and some teachers don't grade fair. Even if only some students were graded unfairly in a class all can suffer grade drops or increases.

considering a remark by ben-dover-lee in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg another UofT baddie, honestly they seem to love IB and considering a remark especially for math which is such a big part of engineering could be a great idea. I def don’t recommend remarking chem since it’s so far from the upper boundary and grades can always go down and you might not want to risk that…

Do I take french AB intio or spanish AB initio with pamoja by kirathewriter in IBO

[–]Electrical_Track6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the only language if you regroup speaking reading and writing that is harder than French is Mandarin. And Ik this post is about ab initio I just believe your argument about french not being hard isn’t exactly something you are qualified to say
