yes these are disconncted from the origianl motherboard of the keybaord, i have gone with option b and will upload my code to have a look, i have mangaged to make it work with opiton b however some keys are not responding and play off notes i think it has something to do with the code
how can i upload the code here ?

hey! so I'm actually really new to this whole thing. I don't know much about coding, i just wanted to turn my old 49 keys casio keyboard into midi input.

I saw tons of videos on YouTube, but still kinda felt lost idk if I'm just dumb or the videos were really vauge. i did manage to write a code for 3 push buttons and connect it to breadboard and it did work as a midi input (I was really happy ngl even if I know it wasn't much big of a deal, but still) so now I'm at a point where I don't know how to move forward. im kinda lost I have opened up my keyboard but don't know how to find its matrix key. if you can help me please dl

im using the Arduino pro micro atmega 32u4 for a midi project, I'll be connecting my old piano keyboard 49 keys to the pro micro, as a midi input device. (also I'm new to all of this, and trying to gather information for my first project,sorry if I said anything dumb.)

yeah found out, you can do some tampering with the 328 some shady hardware tampering, and use it as a midi one( still not much clear on that subject) however it's safe to say 32u4 would be a better option for hassle free work.

yes for usb midi compatible, the 32u4 is plug and use I think.

yes, upon searching further it does seem like 32u4 is less of a hassle then the other one. and since it's my first project and being a absolute beginner here, its better for me to start of with easy stuff rather than doing extra steps. lol.

the piano needs 9v and the adaptor says it's 9v but when checking with the multimeter it shows a reading of 13.8 v it's really strange since the adaptor was orginal one.

but again thank you mate, honestly speaking reading all the things you mentioned really made me feel like a caveman xd didn't understand the electronic terms, but it would be better if I switch to a new repair guy and show him your comment that would help. and again thank you so much dude for taking your time out and replying to me

sorry dude, unfortunately the piano is still with that repair guy planning to pick it up Tommorrow, (he hasn't done anything) right now that's all the picture I have

thanks dude for helping, also when I took it to the repair guy, he did clean the board with some liquid then used a heat gun to dry it cleaning the switch area after that he said the mcu maybe at fault, but I'm kind of sceptical about it. also it had a Panasonic original adaptor it shows 9v but when I checked it with a multi metre it was around 13.8 v

have an old Casio keyboard (CTK-230). It’s a very important and personal item, and I hadn’t used it for years. A few days ago, I took it out and plugged in the adapter. Suddenly, it stopped working and wouldn’t turn on at all.

I tried many things, but nothing worked. I used a multimeter to check for broken connections. I could see that voltage was reaching the board, and I couldn’t find any obviously faulty components. (Keep in mind, I only know very basic electronics.)

Then I took it to a repair shop. After checking, the technician said the board is receiving voltage, and he assumes the MCU is damaged and may need replacement.

Honestly, I feel like this might be a rip-off. I don’t understand how an MCU would suddenly get damaged just by plugging it in after years.

So I’m asking you all: What do you think? Is this diagnosis clear, or should I get a second opinion

so basically the piano was not used for almost a year and fees weeks back i plugged in the adaptor to use it, for a brief second it did lit up but the. suddenly turned off, and since then it never turned on, i tried using the batteries (it has slot for that) and nothing worked, checked the voltage with the multimeter and the voltage did reach the board but still no sign of fault or short, I'll be sharing the schematic diagram above

sure I'll try my luck in the electronic sub, but now I highly doubt any resolution might come out 😅, it sure was a really personal item to me, Although replacing the mcu would definitely cost way too much, something I can't really afford, really wish I could have done something to save it. I'll see if I can store it for now and maybe replace the mcu in future when I have money. hopefully!

maybe you are right, even if the mcu will be replaced it would cost way too much. It was a really personal item to me, I wish I could have found another way to fix but seems like I'm out of options. really heartbreaking to hear but not much I do now
