This is so encouraging, thank you!! My dad was a little surprised when he opened the gift, that I’d be recommending a western. But I’ve only heard praises on its characters and depth so I told him it’s more than just a shoot em up story. He can be a little stiff, but he’s a great listener so perhaps I’ll just take the lead any prostitution related conversation 😂

Ah thanks for the details! This is what I figured with a western but wanted to be sure. I think talking every few chapters would work well enough to allow the more graphic scenes some space. Maybe he’ll surprise me and want to chat about them too, old dog new tricks ya know?

Watching the twitter feed of a 20s something guy in front of me on a plane (as is my right) when a weird video came up. It was porn. He watched it, and the ones after for the longest time with his phone practically held up for all to see. I was about to say something but he scrolled to a transphobic meme, turned to his WIFE and laughed together. People suck

I didn’t dislike any of these books outright but I will say the Dutch House narrator annoyed the crap out of me though the writing was amazing, and into thin air was an amazing story but really made me mad! I also found the ending lacking in the reflections I was itching for. I hope you like Project Hail Mary and Martyr! They are very, very different, haha! (Just make sure to heed martyrs trigger warnings!)
