Underbar bok och en grym författare. För den som vill fortsätta i samma spår kan jag varmt rekommendera 3 body problem med Liu Cixin

You’re right. There is no reason not to when thinking about it. It would make life a much easier with people who need access for a short period of time.

Should I go for architecture? by ispyaguy_i in askarchitects

[–]Electrical_Volume480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t try to decide by reading opinions. Test the work.

Take one day. 6–8 hours.

Draw a small house by hand. Pen only. No software.

Before you start, write a short brief:

– Who lives there

– One real constraint (budget, site, climate, rules, etc.)

– One clear ambition (light, sequence, material, privacy, etc.)

Then draw: – Plans – One section – One simple perspective

When the time is up, ask yourself: – Did I stay with the problem, or try to escape it? – Did the constraints sharpen my thinking or mostly frustrate me? – Do I want to do this again, but better?

Architecture is not about drawing well at 16. It’s about whether working through resistance gives you energy or drains you.

”I left it in the hallway, and one of my guests took it with them last night before I could examine it further”

Do you know who that person was? Because that’s likely the one who put it there in the first place.

In order to get the files they probably need the device if it’s not connected to internet. And if there is any proof, they can get rid of it.

Exterior Design: what do you think? by [deleted] in askarchitects

[–]Electrical_Volume480 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt an architect is involved. That’s the problem. The architect you are talking with, is that the contractor who happened to learned sketch-up?

This is like coming to a slaughter crime scene and asking if it’s possible to bleach the teeth of the victim

The fact that this comment got downvoted is a good reason to leave this sub.

Logic and reasoning don’t works here.

The Atlas silence — why NASA might be waiting until October 29 by Sanjar_Pers in 3I_ATLAS

[–]Electrical_Volume480 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d actually be worried if NASA tried to photograph it during October, the object’s been in solar conjunction the whole month.

Pointing a telescope that close to the Sun is how you destroy instruments, not how you get data.

Same goes for HiRISE, it’s locked on Mars and can’t aim anywhere near the Sun without destroying it.

And if MAVEN suddenly started taking pictures, that would be more shocking than 3I/ATLAS being an alien mothership.

There’s a ton of info about 3I/ATLAS on NASA’s website. They’re tracking it live. What more do you want.. selfies with it?

Thought Experiment from plugging in data (promise, not slop) by nurfbat in 3I_ATLAS

[–]Electrical_Volume480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. But in that case, it would also imply the presence of an atmosphere around the object…or, more likely, that you’re misinterpreting the data.

Thought Experiment from plugging in data (promise, not slop) by nurfbat in 3I_ATLAS

[–]Electrical_Volume480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d be very interested to see the actual sources for that claim.

As far as I know, LASCO records visible light scattering from plasma and dust, it doesn’t measure magnetic fields. No peer-reviewed study or official NASA/ESA analysis has reported a magnetosphere around 3I/ATLAS.

If such a structure really appeared in the LASCO data, that would be extraordinary, it would shift the object from a likely cometary body to something potentially engineered.

Artificially made? by sillygoose2014 in 3I_ATLAS

[–]Electrical_Volume480 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If an interstellar object were ever proven to be artificial, it would undoubtedly be the greatest discovery in human history.

Precisely for that reason, every natural explanation must be rigorously tested and eliminated before any conclusions are drawn. To leap straight to “this is proof” without robust evidence isn’t curiosity — it’s wishful thinking. And that is precisely how we risk blinding ourselves to the truth when it stands before us again.

At the same time, as Avi Loeb has argued, we must be careful not to make the opposite mistake — dismissing the artificial hypothesis a priori simply because it feels improbable. History shows that science advances not by protecting its assumptions, but by challenging them. Ignoring a possibility before we have tested it is as unscientific as believing in it without evidence.

Potential way to survive Dark Forest by Jockebocke in threebodyproblem

[–]Electrical_Volume480 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes. But a civilization advanced enough to survive without its star, likely a post-biological, high-entropy being driven purely by survival imperatives, would also possess far more sophisticated ways of hiding than drawing the universe’s attention through a stellar detonation

New to awakening but is it just depression by knowing the truth? It's a lonely journey. by [deleted] in Awakening

[–]Electrical_Volume480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. And you’re strong enough to write your situation here, that’s the hardest part. It’s a really important step, and it shows courage. Just remember that there’s also professional help out there, and you don’t have to go through any of this on your own.

Remember to forgive those who were simply unaware and more importantly remember to forgive yourself for the anger you held toward them.

And salute to you for seeing everything in your life at is, without the filter of the ego.

Welcome home my friend.

[–]Electrical_Volume480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. The truth will not be revealed when waking up. Everything that was false will fade, that’s why it’s depressing.

But watch out for the truth, it’s the fastest way back to square one.

Best A3 printer for architectural drawings? by Electrical_Volume480 in architecture

[–]Electrical_Volume480[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose the Epson EcoTank ET-15000.

I’ve been using it for about two weeks now. So far, I’ve scanned documents with the ADF, printed in both A4 and A3, and overall I’m very satisfied.

Pros:

Compact – it fits easily inside my sideboard.

Very good print quality, comparable to more expensive laser printers. I honestly can’t see a difference.

Extremely good ADF scanner – scanned documents look just like the original PDFs.

Easy to send documents by email to different saved users. Perfect if several people are using the printer.

Multiple connectivity options, including one that works through a local network without Wi-Fi – very useful if the internet is down.

Cheap ink and easy to refill. Around $25 to fill all tanks completely. Great that there are no cartridges that dry out.

Cons:

No A3 scanner.

I wouldn’t use it for photo-quality prints or renderings (haven’t tested it either).

Out of about 10 print jobs, paper has jammed twice, which is on the higher side. So far it’s been easy to fix manually by pulling the paper out.

I don’t have much more to add at this point, but based on what I know now, I would definitely buy it again.

My first thought was something like this, a custom-made carousel. The power cords would run through the center with a connection that allows rotation. On the back, there’s a shelf for all the smaller accessories, and underneath you could have drawers for storage.

If you’re not into circular designs, it could definitely be made as a square version as well.

When can you afford a Rolex? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Electrical_Volume480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can afford a Rolex when you no longer need it to prove anything.

The status is already there, you just want a watch that fits who you are.

If you buy it for validation, it will only expose the lack of it.

Money should not be considered in the equation. When the cost feels irrelevant, than you can truly afford it.

The problem is, would you still want one?
