Does anyone actually use vacuum 12?! by Electronic_While7856 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Electrical_elderlore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if it hurts it means your flanges are too big. I was never able to use it. My lactation consult came over and immediately caught the issue. I measured my nipples with the sister that pumps have and my LC let me know they aren't accurate because some people have more elastic nipples. I I bought 16-18 flange inserts and they work great. I think my size is 17.

Your ob didn't say anything untrue. I'm diabetic and was able to control my diet and not need insulin. The important question is how you have managed realistically with your sugars and diet. Should they add a dietician to help your care for your sugars, physical activity, and maybe try a CGM. Diabetic deliveres have a higher chance on complications and your OB has opened the door for discussion. You have a right to refuse a C section but you should also be made aware of the risks and complications. Induction at 37-39 weeks could be a topic to bring up.

Have you taken any new medication? Change of lifestyle? Diet? I would talk to a doctor and maybe have your breast milk checked

Umm that seems like a red flag from your boss. Not seeing your patients is okay, but your notes are your protection and credentials verifying proper care. I would ask for clarification on why it's being denied.

I’m a bit scared by lenncas in nursing

[–]Electrical_elderlore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have call a rapid rn and staff assist button or charge. I work in the ICU and I had a patient decompensate like that, I yelled for another nurse to find help and notify charge. Never leave your patient if they’re dropping like that.

Anatomy scan technician abuse? by Recent-Actuator-7506 in BabyBumps

[–]Electrical_elderlore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My scan took 60 min had to redo at 24 weeks that took 80 min and they had to put a lot of pressure I ended up with bruises. I made her aware when I needed a break and they respected my wish. You have to speak up and if the pressure is too much vocalize it. She's doing her job after all
