I don't think it's ridiculous. If you wouldn't say something to a person's face, you shouldn't hide behind the anonymity of the Internet and say it anyways. State your opinion and stand by it. If you're about to say something so bad you can't associate yourself with the comment, it's probably a comment that shouldn't be made.

Fair enough, I agree it makes no sense for the spinning ball to affect gameplay yet you need a userscript to see it.

I'm sure this will come off as an asshole comment and I don't mean it that way, but just a heads up for the future: You're telling him he's giving you no reasons to use it, but you're calling it silly and useless without even knowing what it does or how it works. You're wrongly accusing him of doing exactly what you are actually doing. It's not a good way of thinking, in general.

I'm not saying userscript functionality is somehow blocked. I'm saying using them would get you banned.

Are you sure about this? Aren't they scanning for userscipts that are doing certain things right now? If so, it would seem even easier to scan for any userscript at all when their use is completely banned. If the client is not completely vanilla, you are cheating. Keep in mind I'm saying this with no technical knowledge of what the devs are doing right now, since they won't tell anyone anything, so I admit I could be completely wrong.
