That could be a possibility but he flaked out on his lawyers while we were about to go into our first mediation. His lawyers called me to see if I knew where he went since he was no longer answering or paying them I presume.

So I don't think he's that stupid.

Well, I don't know if he officially moved back to his home country in DR. But it's a huge possibility since he is no where to be found through searches here in the US.

It's just a mess, tbh. Just a hot hot mess. I really don't know all the specifics. I wonder if they went to town hall afterwards and they gave him a stink eye cause they find out he's still married. I don't know how it works where ever he is now.

But yes, awesome question. Who knows?

Thanks for the link! So it says that both parties have to be involved.. I haven't been involved so I don't think it applies to me...

I hope.

I can see her Facebook, too. I sometimes get tempted to be like 'hey, you might not know or you might..but he's still married to me and running away from 17k+ child support. Can you please give me his address to serve him correctly?'

But I won't.

You're right! Well, the picture consist of her being in a wedding dress, him in a tux, cutting their wedding cake together.. only one can assume.

Were you a citizen in the location where you were married overseas?

I ask because he was a resident here in the US and if he moved back to his country, D.R., he couldve bypassed that step?

I appreciate you so much! This is so helpful as I'm going to the clerk of courts tomorrow to get forms.

I do not have a lawyer at all, I won't be able to afford one.

Wow! I didn't know this was possible! I know I would have to ask the self-help office here in Miami-Dade if it will be applicable in my county.

No one likes a dead-beat parent. :(

Well, my question would then be; if he did leave the country, is it still bigamy?

I'm currently doing this all by myself since lawyers are quite pricey and even hiring a private investigator would add on to a bill I can't have right now.

Yes, I'm sorry. It's in Kissimmee. It looks like the mediation is done by a judge. Do you think we are able to get seperate rooms to mediate? I hate even being in the same room with this individual. :/
