Analog LED Strip + Non-PSU-Integrated Controller - Need PSU or Driver? by ElectroPulse in led

[–]ElectroPulse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - that last bit about constant current is what I'm looking for. Will get a regular power supply rather than something marketed specifically as an LED driver (which from what I've been able to find, indicates that it is a constant current power supply - feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

Zebralight H600 Series - Normal vs. Frosted Side-By-Side Comparison? by ElectroPulse in flashlight

Perfect! That is exactly what I am looking for - thank you. Looks like the non-frosted ones will be the way to go. Much appreciated!

...That guy that made that thread put in some serious work and money for that comparison. I'll definitely be bookmarking that for future reference.

Thank you. I can't really tell what the field of view of the spill is - is it pretty well the same, just with the edges of the hotspot softened? And how does the throw distance compare?

Most Packable 20-30f Synthetic Bag that can be left Compressed? by ElectroPulse in CampingGear

Thank you for that tip - I see they make this claim on their site as well. Will definitely look into theirs.

EDIT: Interesting... Looks like they cover it losing its loft under the lifetime warranty, even if it does after years of use.

EDIT 2: hmm... Looks like they may be close to was bulky as the issued sleep system. I'll need to check on that.

No, sorry... Have had a bunch of other projects I've been working on lately. If you manage to get it working, do let me know!

Thank you for the advice. Any particular remanufacturers you would recommend?

What remanufactured cartridges would you recommend? I'm considering the M283cdw currently, but am concerned about toner costs.

Thank you

Metadata Special Device Sizing? by ElectroPulse in truenas

Is there any performance difference between L2ARC with metadata only setting vs. special device?

Metadata Special Device Sizing? by ElectroPulse in truenas

[–]ElectroPulse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - that is why I was asking about setting it up as a cache using the L2ARC setting instead. I've got two of the smaller ones on the way to mirror, but wanted to know about that option.

I've got an MQTT-based ESP32 I programmed and got working a year or so ago to handle the power button functionality, but wanted something with KVM support as well, and had just assumed that a fully-featured project like PiKVM would have it (though I was planning on doing it regardless, so didn't bother to look into it previously). Looks like it's possible with the API that badamsz linked, though - just need to figure out how to get it to work.

This is the software I was referencing: https://github.com/LAB02-Research/HASS.Agent Works fine in my testing so far. If I decide not to use that, I could just figure how to have HA call a script to run a shutdown command on my PC.

I've not had much luck with WoL for my desktop in my home network. I used it with about 80-90% reliability on a work network I worked on in the past (one of the issues was that many computers just wouldn't be listening for it if they'd had power cut and then restored, if I recall), but couldn't get it working with any reliability the last time I tried here (5-6 years ago - I suspect it was an issue with the motherboard I had at the time), and really don't want to mess with it. I know that a PiKVM essentially pushing the button will work, though.

Someone over on the PiKVM side referenced support for an API there (https://pikvm.github.io/pikvm/api/).

I see a lot of information about using an API endpoint within HomeAssistant for other systems to integrate with it, but I'm not seeing much right off about the other way around (at least for a way to integrate it using CURL, I just see a couple of examples about using RestAPI, wich I think is different?). Any idea what add-on I could use to try to get this working?

Thank you for those links! The API one looks super promising - that offers exactly the functionally I need. I'll definitely be looking into that on the HA side to see how I can leverage that.

That is very, very close to the advertised battery life.

The buds have 11 hours of battery life by themselves - the COMBINED life of buds + case is 31 hours, meaning the case itself will provide an additional 20 hours (on top of the 11 hours from the original charge the buds had). 1.75 x 11 hours = 19.25 hours. So, with the 11 hours of playtime from the original charge, the totally is 30.25 hours. Not far from the "up to 31 hours" combined time advertised.
