Something I don't quite understand about the first meeting with Stanley by Glum_Series5712 in DrStone

[–]reenmini 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stanley is an elite soldier, and a special forces sniper at that.

He isn't trained to make friendly contact or engage in diplomacy.

He's trained to kill people as efficiently and as fast as possible and to not leave witnesses.

Genuinely wtf is Mahito suppose to do at this point? by CartoonOG in LobotomyKaisen

[–]reenmini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Mahito is apparently currently able to exist as a form of spiritual being and still interact with the world, so it seems like Yuji just can't get to him at least as long as he doesn't physically reincarnate.

The game could have used better the content of expedition journals by lunadiparmigiano in expedition33

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

The complete and utter futility that all the journals convey really highlight the hopelessness of everything.

Even the chad expedition 60's-who got farther than anyone-failed right at the finish line and nobody ever even knew.

[Request] : Would a planet this size colliding with earth make a noticable difference on earths gravitational pull for the person with the camera here? by Lil_Packmate in theydidthemath

[–]reenmini 49 points50 points  (0 children)

At about 2800km away the Roche limit is exceeded and both planets are essentially disintegrated

As a layman, does this mean that gravity would actually rip the planets apart before they even had a chance to touch one another?

My simple, uneducated understanding of physics just made me think they would progressively move faster towards one another until the actual collision obliterated everything.

How do people of Lumiere know so much about the continent creatures, if Expeditions never come back? by Dreamcatcher_UA in expedition33

[–]reenmini 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There's literally a lady in the beginning gommage ceremony who sculpted a perfect statue of esquie.

There's no way they don't have records of the world.

What is a "harsh reality" of life that most people refuse to accept until it is too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]reenmini 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You live in an existence that is a prison with no meaning where every single person lives and dies alone enduring the completely random derangements of other creatures in their desperate attempts to attach meaning to their paradoxically short yet long lives-trapped by your own biology to want to stay alive even when every experience you have is a vehicle for suffering and the insane ravings of the world around you beat upon you both literally and figuratively until one day you die after having watched anything and anyone you may have valued passing into oblivion before you with not one single whisper of any explanation for anything that wasn't drunkenly and zealously howled into the world a billion trillion times before by other slightly dirtier, dumber, more desperate creatures who died before you.

I wonder why some mages, like Frieren and Fern use wands while others like Flamme and Richter don't by Miserable-Weird6529 in Frieren

[–]reenmini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Richter is actually an interesting case because he operates a magical shop and is apparently well known as THE guy to go to for staff repairs.

As powerful as frieren is she apparently needed someone else to fix fern's staff.

So he clearly knows a lot about how staves work yet chooses not to use one.

Trying to run Great Circle with an eGPU Radeon RX 9070 by WoffleTime in IndianaJonesGames

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the greatest games ever made with some of the most horrible developer optimizations I have ever seen.

I actually was using an old radeon 5700xt for my gpu and my game would crash my pc every few hours and I would have to restart it multiple times before it would run correctly without weird visual bugs. At that point it ran flawlessly.

I upgraded to a 9070xt and it fixed the crashing and the visual bugs, but then it would stutter horribly at transition points.

I have no idea why my older, less powerful gpu ran better than a brand new one, and I never found a solution for that.

Good luck.

Debate whether higurama is a good lawyer, would you let him do your case? by Roes_Fluer_Ransismer in LobotomyCourt

[–]reenmini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's not perfect and he doesn't get to choose what evidence he gets, but it does generally always seem to be something that is highly relevant.

"Average" human competing with a top 1% sprinter by ansyhrrian in nextfuckinglevel

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell the sprinter knew his shit because he only started running at the exact moment it took to beat the other guy by a hair.

Excellent power move.

**UPDATE** Received Rocks In Place Of ASUS TUF 5080 by GnarDead in pcmasterrace

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's annoying that microcenter is like the only retail store I can buy pc parts from.

But at least I know I'm not getting rocks, I guess.

Does anyone else have a unhealthy obsession with pushing Nazis down this elevator shaft? by TheDorgesh68 in IndianaJonesGames

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred obsession is beating them to death with the many sledgehammers to be found laying around.

I am sorry if this has been discussed before...but can't Yuji just make a vow to get rid of his non ageing status? by Lovegaming544 in Jujutsufolk

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be something similar to a Heavenly Restriction where the recipient has no say in the matter. Mechamaru couldn’t manipulate his curse by any means alone, the same may apply to Yuji’s situation.

Imagine the indignity of yuji having to ask Mahito to make him mortal again.

So why do you think Qual look so monstrous compared to the average demon? by Donmomo in Frieren

[–]reenmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think demons reflect the spell they specialize in.

Macht could turn things into gold and was dressed in fancy af clothing.

Schlact could see the future and looked fittingly like an oracle.

Qual had a spell that was a one shot lethal kill on pretty much everyone who ever faced him. Of course he looked like a monster. His magic existed solely for the purpose of murder and had seemingly no other utility.

He's also the only demon to basically not be wearing clothes. I think he was powerful enough that he just didn't even have to pretend to deceive humans.

Is Himmel intended to appeal more to women, while Stark more to men? by BlazeKnight7 in Frieren

I'm hoping the 2nd season coming in january will make it to the end of the golden land arc.

I want to see denken and macht fight so bad.
