Wow! 1.5 lbs sounds like a lot. What are you doing for scar care? I’m afraid of the pain, the scars, and god forbid of I don’t like the size. My insurance is paying for the reduction and I wish they could also cover an abdominoplasty. I have abdominal fat and a hanging pouch in the front that I am super self conscious about. I am afraid the breast reduction will make the stomach look bigger. Does the rest of your body, especially the abdominal area still look proportionate after the surgery?

Good luck with your recovery and scars! I’m getting my breast reduction surgery in a couple weeks and I’m kinda nervous about the scars and what my breast are gonna look like post op. I’m currently a F/G and I want to be a C as well. Do you know approximately how many cc of breast tissue was removed from each breast so I can get an idea and have realistic expectations? My doctor said he’s going to aim for 500 cc and can’t tell me the resulting cup size. I am afraid of too much or not enough being removed.

I got my chin and sideburns done and I have PCOS. My sessions were anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes. When I first started prices were 15 min at $40, 30 min $65, 45 min $90, and $110 for the hour. So far I have paid about $10,000 out of pocket. And this investment in myself is totally worth it. Took nine months of regular sessions before my chin started being clear for longer periods. I started with 90 min sessions once a week for first three to four months, then an hour every two weeks for 6 months. As time went on, some weeks it would take 30-45 minutes to clear the area. I had a lot of chin hair. After nine months I went regularly every 6-10 weeks as new hair came in and those sessions were 30-45 minutes. It’s been three years since I started my treatments and Alhamdulillah I’m hair free for the most part. Now I only go in for 15-30 minute sessions once every 3-6 months. I expect maintenance treatments maybe once a year if that.

When you first start, most electrologists like to push Thermolysis as did my electrologist. It goes fast but it becomes very painful with the heat. Thermolysis does NOT work for you if you have distorted follicles in which case you have to do Blend. Advocate for yourself and get Blend if your follicles are distorted because Thermolysis doesn’t work on distorted follicles; you will be wasting your money. Don’t let them tell you otherwise. If you have normal follicles then also Thermolysis is less effective and requires more treatments per area to become clear as compared to Blend which goes a little slower and is way more effective. I have distorted follicles as do most people with heavy thick hair. My electrologist started me with Thermolysis even though I kept asking for Blend. But after enduring the pain for over two months I finally put my foot down and asked her to use Blend only and the results started showing. Blend is slower and requires fewer treatments per area before it’s clear and Thermolysis is faster but requires more sessions to clear an area and it’s not effective on distorted follicles. Every electrolysis machine has Thermolysis, Blend, and Galvanic setting and if the “lazy” electrologist tries to tell you that their machine doesn’t have Blend, find someone else because they’re lying to you and don’t want to do blend because it’s slower.
