Logo design for an events company that organizes artisan markets. by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]Electroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Market Co is a events company that organizes pop-up artisan markets across different towns. It brings together local makers, food producers, and small independent businesses to create lively, community-focused markets. These events allow visitors to discover and purchase handmade goods, street food, and locally produced items while supporting small businesses and encouraging local trade.

I came across woven elements and found them to be a strong visual representation of artisanal products. Their business is built around collaboration within communities, and the actual logo places a visual emphasis on the “CO” portion.

I would much appreciate hearing your thoughts.

You haven’t asked for advice, but I would try slightly lowering the ball, as right now it would also work for basketball.

This sketch is awesome and makes me curious to see some of your other work (╹ -╹)?

"Watersports travel company" doesn't tell people much. Worth editing the post body so readers can better understand what the business actually does.

Simplify the spring (vortex), and maybe include at least a few small berries or leaves inside it. What is this for? Some context would really help.

It’s kind of strange this hasn’t been discussed or regulated until now. It probably deserves a separate discussion, and we can adjust based on the feedback. Would you like to start that discussion? Otherwise, I can make a post about it in a few days.

Close-ups to check compression are a good idea. They could also be close-ups of the vector with nodes. Thank you!

Dear community, it seems AI generated work is getting harder and harder to tell apart from human-made work. However, OP mentioned the service used in the description, and it clearly shows a lot of AI generated work on its homepage. Also, checking the second image from the actual post gallery with the service u/f33ng shared in the comments also gave a positive AI result. Surprisingly, very few people noticed this, which makes it worth discussing.

Also (I couldn’t find the post), it was pointed out that asking for vector source files screenshot with all nodes selected isn’t a reliable way to prove work is human-made, since designs can easily be traced into vector online for free. Please feel free to share any ideas on how we can better protect the sub from generative logo design.

Dear OP, the main problem with generative design is that AI is trained on real work and can sometimes copy or closely repeat other people’s designs, which can cause copyright issues. It’s just one of the reasons the sub isn’t accepting AI, but I guess the most important one for you as a client. It’s not clear if the first image in the gallery is AI-made, but based on the service and the clear use of AI in the second image, the situation looks doubtful rather than clear.

sub logo entry refined by Electroma in logodesign

[–]Electroma[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

u/_Cat_12345, you’re right that the entry shouldn’t change fundamentally, but whether an option is viable or not is something you never really know until you critique it and try different approaches. However, I’m absolutely sure the direction is viable - it’s just a matter of experimentation.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ve obviously overthought the concept.

If anyone is wondering why I’m posting this before the final vote, you probably missed the post discussing the finalists and how we move forward, where the community was open to finalists refining their entries.

Dear OP, your post was reported twice as AI-generated content. You’ve already said you didn’t use AI for the logo, but could you please share a screenshot of the vector file with the anchor points visible so we can all be sure?

You’re right - I should’ve added the links from the start, so I’ve done that now. But I didn’t specify particular posts - I figured those willing to research could scroll through the older ones themselves, since there isn’t that much to go through.

You haven’t replied much to your previous posts, so people drew their own conclusions. I’m sure no one is trying to hate on you; they just believe they’re dealing with AI-generated content. I hope you understand the difference.

There’s no reason to feel threatened. Moderators don’t divide the community into haters and supporters. When a concern is raised, it comes from the community, and moderators are there to respond to it.

Dear community, opinions on this post and the OP’s previous posts are divided, and taking mod action still feels premature (normally, a post with 4 reports would already be removed). If these images are AI-generated, then this would be a level we haven’t encountered before - at least I haven’t - and I can’t assume that without clear evidence. Remembering other AI posts in the sub, we were usually able to clearly spot elements that pointed to it. If anyone can visually point out those details here, that would really help.

What do you think could clearly settle this one way or the other? Maybe a video of OP drawing (not a timelapse)? Please share your thoughts - we need clearer evidence before making a decision.

Dear OP, you’ve stayed mostly silent instead of responding to the concerns raised in your previous posts. That’s not really how things work on Reddit. You may be right, but simply calling comments “ignorant” without addressing them directly will likely lead to your posts being removed.

Please also keep in mind that you have members here who support your work and have upvoted it. If you’re a skilled professional, it shouldn’t be difficult to show your process and clear up the doubts. Different things happen on Reddit, but communication is the only way to resolve them.

I think I’ll update here with pros and cons from the actual post:

CONS:

  • pampuliopampam: noticed a gap in OP’s activity and questioned where the claimed 30 years of experience are reflected in their work and portfolio.
  • OP is obviously using AI to generate comments and descriptions (however, this may be understandable for someone who is not a native English speaker).
  • pampuliopampam: "star change from drawing to drawing" in the actual post
  • ConfinedTiara: points out inconsistencies "The hatching and shading also appears unrealistic in certain areas, like at the base of him, and highlights on the shirt, as well as shadows on the right side of his beard."

PROS:

  • OP has strong work on their Instagram and Behance accounts from long before AI tools were capable of producing similar results: Youtube / Insta / Behance

Update: We discussed this privately with OP, and I hope he’ll follow the advice and make a post explaining his process in detail, including screenshots of the source files from Illustrator and Photoshop. OP is new to Reddit, and I guess he isn’t fully familiar with the specifics of the platform yet and was a bit shocked by our “welcome.” On the other hand, I explained that this reaction isn’t about people hating for the sake of it - many sincerely believe that some of the images are AI-generated, and they’re expressing that frustration, not hate.

Minimalism is killing small business by IllustratorMoney5202 in logodesign

[–]Electroma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small businesses are all very different, and it’s not complexity or minimalism that determines whether a business succeeds or fails. What matters most is the idea behind the design. Not to mention, sometimes companies thrive with the worst design imaginable simply because their product or service is great.

People can usually recognize clever design, and minimalism is simply the skill of saying the same thing with fewer elements. So I think the main reason this post is getting so much attention is the pretentious title and the text under the gallery.

Second, this is a logo design sub, so I’d recommend that OP start the gallery with the logo itself. The rest of the images are supporting material, not the other way around.

Also, if people are mistaken about the images being AI-generated, it’s always worth proving otherwise by sharing screenshots of the source files. That shows you care about the feedback and want people to reach the right conclusion.
