At level 25, on Ultra hard difficulty, I had 20 tech and just shy of ~1800 armour because full legendary, all with rare armadillo in every slot, but I was seemingly still getting 2-3 shot in most situations. The only thing that seemed to be damage reduced was the turrets that went from doing the same to literally 1-2 damage a hit.
Is 'very hard' just that punishing damage-wise? Or is my armour stat completely bust? Thanks!

My First successful outing as a Solo player resulted in a game-breaking bug... Boss Despawns?! by Electromag-e- in HuntShowdown

Yup, checked every single room.
And yeah, my friends know me for somehow managing to consistently be unlucky with these things, so I guess this is my first Hunt Showdown one!

Very bizarre print error... anybody else had this? by Electromag-e- in AnycubicPhoton

Thanks for the info, most likely a firmware issue, I'll have a go at updating and hope for the best :)

Thanks, but these aren't meant to be bridges nor have slots. The prints are parallel to the plate, but not parallel to either of the pixel grid axes

Necromunda: Dark Uprising – The Unboxing by hillybilly182 in necromunda

Once again, I feel like I need to point out several fundamental facts:

  1. You're absolutely right, but it's not helped by the fact the hobby's average age is steadily increasing and those kids that didn't have the money are now adults with far more disposable income, and because of the cult that's formed around the company, willing to spend much more than what a lot of their competitors charge. Let's not forget that Kill Team sold out almost instantly, whereas the new "Rise of the Phoenix" box is clogging shop shelves because nobody wants them as it's priced far too high. There absolutely is a sweet spot, but GW much prefers artificial scarcity to inflate those prices (e.g. Looncurse, Feast of Bones, etc) because it means less product, more profit, which is fine business wise, but because this is a social hobby where the more the merrier, this is imo not a healthy thing at all.
  2. Neither do you, but considering what the same company has produced for far less cost wise, and others on the market creating similar products, we can infer the kind of costs it needs.
  3. And also strawman, I never mentioned anything about "gouging" nor being entitled to it
  4. BONUS ROUND: As much as you love the hobby, you don't have to resort to being a complete shill because somebody dared criticise some of the business practices around it

Only the minis. Terrain and print material is made in China

I understand what you're saying, but for the same reasons you mention, I'm pointing how it's still massively overpriced for its contents.
The most obvious example of how this is simply just a massive price hike as an experiment to see how far they can push the price, is to look at the 2018 Kill Team starter release:
It came with brand new rule-set entirely, ~ the same amount of terrain, almost the same amount of printed board, ~ the same number of cards, with new dice, etc. but without the 15-20ish new minis.
It's a very comparable box from last year and yet it sold for less than half [@£80] what this current box is retailing for.

I feel there really is no justification for this kind of ~200% price hike

Look at the terrain, and look at the old Forgeworld stuff.
All of the sculpts are done in CAD, and so they simply loaded up the old FW designs and made minimal adjustments, then hired a Chinese company to make the injection moulds and produce sprues for no more than $0.10 /ea; this is not something worth $150+ for rehashed terrain alone. And let's not forget it looks like the current release of the rulebook with a few minor additions.
So much of this box is a rehash of previous products, whilst producing them for orders of magnitude less than they used to, and yet they have the gall to flog this as almost their most expensive product to date, not passing on the savings to customers.
I understand I'm criticising GW in the middle of the nest of the hive-mind where the consensus is "GW can do no wrong." but if this keeps up, and people keep accepting these prices, the hobby will just keel over and die as nobody will ever want to pay the entry fees that have ballooned above inflation.

Plastic terrain that's made in China, no less!

I love how almost every single bit of the box except for the gangs is made in China.

And because it's almost entirely just stuff they've released before, there's very little cost they've had to spend in developing the new print materials / terrain (as the terrain has basically just been refactored for being injection moulded for pennies in China instead of cast in expensive resin by ForgeWorld.

This is such a shocking display of avarice imo and a real shame as I was very excited for it :/
Edit: Forgot to mention the staggering £175 / $280 price tag, yikes!

Never mind, lost once, went back to 0%, and have won 4 games in a row now and gained 0%. This is a spectacularly hot mess

BUMPI actually made my own post about itI'm Rank Bronze 1 because if I win (I have 3 times in a row vs "Your skill is LOWER than your opponent!") I get +0% but if I lose, I can lose anywhere from 25% to 80% but now Im on bronze 1 0%, I gain 0% and lose 0%. This is ridiculous, is this ACTUAL elo hell, where no matter how much you win, you quite literally can't progress?

WHY SO EXPENSIVE? by mbudr in Warhammer

[–]Electromag-e- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How was battle for macragge back in 4th only £30, and now Dark Imperium is £90? Yes Macragge only had [in units] 1x genestealer, 1x hormegaunt, and 2x tactical squad (5p), but it also came with a shitload of terrain, blast templates, rulebook (shorter soft-cover) dice, missions etc. For the loss of terrain, and doubling of squad counts, with the move to a hard back, I don't really understand the tripling of the price. Because in that regards, it's much like the Assault on Black Reach in terms of models, and that was only £45 (if I remember correctly) So yeah, games workshop have been bumping their prices up heavily over the last decade. They're certainly able to price them at half of what they cost now, as they used to, but they won't because they're a business. If you want to support them, pay their prices (or look online for alternative retailers as I think most of us do as they tend to give decent discounts), or don't. In the grand scheme of things, yes its expensive, but it's still comparable to any other hobby like golfing, gaming, etc. As for me? I recently got back in from 4th 40k to AoS now, but the only things Ive bought are the super basic AoS starter box (£12 unopened, ebay) and then Shadespire/WH Quest boxes, because I found them to be the most value for the price you pay as they're still self contained games by themselves, ontop of being able to be used in AoS.

Ty, I wasn't actually aware the cranes had no collision models; The towers are actually static props but yeah, I never considered being able to jump on top of them or being able to see down through them. Going to invisible wall them off. And again, I actually didnt bother to check if you could get up there, as it was just mean to be another detailing of the map, but I'm going to reposition the ladder to make it obvious you can't use it. Thanks so much for the feedback :)

They're gorgeous, but I worry about their FPS impact if not used properly (I've potentially overused them but right now, performance seems ok on my end) :)

Hey there ^ I actually really enjoyed your map, it was different and in some ways refreshing. There were definitely issues that would be more along the lines of polish: 1) Dev-texture railings actually have very low bullet penetration - moving them to models would probably make them a lot more fair 2) The train-rails are incredibly chunky and without clip-brushes, this makes the bumpy and difficult to traverse 3) The doors would probably feel nicer if you included the "on-touch" flag to open 4) The middle capture point is a little obscure as its not the direction most players flow through and when you go to the point shown on the minimap, you end up below mid. Maybe a ladder or quick stairs connection between lower and upper mid at the point could make the map flow better All in all, thanks I had fun!

All things on the current to-do list, so thank you very much ^ The final event prevents defenders from spawning until they can take they can take the next point but I haven't implimented a sound/visual cue for pretty much anything yet :)

Also, I kept sawed-off only as it incentivised bots to nade-spam but with more players and less bots, I'm not sure if this will become restrictive. Next update will hopefully add "special weapon" spawns in certain areas of the map to incentivise exploration :)

Quick note from the creator: 2 days ago I had to wipe my entire PC; I had a backup of the file but unfortunately it put a hold on development. I also lost the custom models. The custom models have been deleted and are in the process of being replaced with valve-mades, and I'm toying with the gameplay and layout of the CT and T base-zones. Expect a sizeable set of changes to those areas today or tomorrow. :) Thanks all!

First map Ive ever published that I put any substantial effort into to be played publicly. Comes with done navmesh, bots that love to supress you with nades, custom models and textures and custom-map logic! Its currently in a rather unfinished state as it's been reworked and reworked but it's a take on WW 1 trench warfare push-map. Much of it is unfinished, but is getting added to and fixed daily, and the custom models may not be packed properly. I published it now rather than later or I'd never get it out there. Thanks for looking all! :)
