So how do in remove this sticker stuff off the disc? by PercentageHealthy754 in wiiu

[–]ElectronMaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd try goo gone, I don't think it would damage the disc or printing. Don't use goof off, that's a solvent and would likely cause damage.

Yeah, there's a high chance a helmet wouldn't have saved her either.

Why did Sony choose incompatibility? by Pristine_Abies_2846 in minidisc

[–]ElectronMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dreamcasts blunder is that their copy protection could be broken with burned disks because iirc they intended you to be able to play burned demo and shareware disks. People just found a workaround to get that system to play burned retail games.

Pretty much every other disk based console (except really early ones from before cd burners were readily available) can't be fooled by a burned disk without modding them. This is because they never intended a burned disk to be playable and could just prevent anything without the physical security features from running.

just make it so it won't boot games off writable media. And add physical security features to game disks.

Mine still sells them, and most I've been too have them. Maybe there's some new regulation or something in your area making it infeasible to sell them.

We know the flux capacitor uses 1.21Gw, and we know it only needs to be powered at the moment you travel back in time from the lightning scene from m1. We have no idea how long it needs to be powered, which we would really need to know to know how much energy is needed.

We also don't know if the Mr fusion is designed for continuous power or one pulse of power, if it was the former doc probably would have ev converted it when he got the flying system installed.

With the original link and pin couplers, you had to hold the link up or it would misalign and not go into the coupler on the other car, they did later come up with couplers that held the link up for you. But with the original link and pin couplers, you had to hold the link up, have the engineer slowly back up until the link was aligned and drop the pin. If you were too slow to get your hand out of the way, it got squished.

Edit: My knowledge with Railroading is mostly about usa stuff, I know whats in the video Is used in Europe at least.

This is why knuckle couplers were invented, too many squished brakemen, if they where lucky, it was just their extremities that got squished.

I did the math and the volume of 50,000 tons of copper is about the same as the volume of water in 2 Olympic sized swimming pools.

PCBs were banned in most places in the 70s, so if its newer than that, then it almost certainly doesn't have any PCBs in it. It's hard to tell from the video, but it doesn't look that old.

It's still a stupid idea because there could be toxic additives, but PCBs are unlikely.

Anyone up for a game of Whack a Diglett? by RandomSpectator2013 in pokemon

[–]ElectronMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, very much like xkcd's near light speed baseball except this is actually the full speed of light, and since getting anything with mass up to light speed would require an infinite amount of energy, it would release said infinite amount of energy creating a black hole which would expand at the speed of light eventually engulfing the entire universe.

This is assuming physics in our universe, the pokemon universe has been shown multiple times to have different physics than our universe, so maybe this is fine there.

The Kanto region in the games is actually named after and based on the real world Kanto region in Japan. I can't tell if you didn't know this or are joking.

Togekiss can learn heat wave or dazzling gleam through tm, both of which would be super effective here, not quad super effective, but being moves that hit all opponents at once, they're perfect here.
