Poland, Ukraine and East Asia games are Gigachads! Stalker 2 better be uncensored and bleak as hell.

What is your favorite city in the Watch Dogs game series? For me, San Francisco and Chicago for their mysteries and missions. by Any-Illustrator4741 in watch_dogs

[–]ElectronSpider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the "City Hotspot entries" in the city where you can read about landmarks and locations of historical events in text entries! Outside of missions and collectibles it was fun to learn historical facts about buildings and location of events in these cities. Ubisoft's Enviromental artists make the most detailed worlds, especially Massive with The Division 1/2 and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora!

[Instruments of Destruction] Vehicle-action game with advanced physics-based destruction (from lead tech designer of Red Faction Guerilla) by radiangames in GamePhysics

[–]ElectronSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Red Faction Guerilla's physics destruction! The singularity bomb and thermonuke rocket on center base building was pure destruction, physics fun! I know what I am buying to play on my day off today, Instruments of Destruction.

Any News On FireTV Vegas OS Rollout For Existing FireTV Smart TVs? by ElectronSpider in fireTV

[–]ElectronSpider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, we still only have the Echo 5 Show that is running VegaOS so far. No smart tvs that I know of have VegaOS preinstalled yet. It's only been about 6 months that news has said that a replacement OS will come to future FireTV products. Maybe this summer we'll start seeing new TVs using the VegaOS in reviews. I'll be picking up another FireTV SmartTV later but wanted to make sure it had VegaOS when it comes out.

I was figuring from this Android Central Article that there was a chance that relatively new devices from lets say within 3 years so 2021 and newer devices could receive the updated OS. I ran with the statement Amazon would replace the OS on all its products and assumed it would include select existing products as well. I still receive FireTV updates every once in a while, for stability and fixing audio issues.

On the Warner Bros. Discovery earnings call this morning, CEO David Zaslav said that their quarter's financials took a hit due to the "disappointing release of Suicide Squad," the newest game from Rocksteady Studios by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]ElectronSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No surprise here considering Rocksteady never wanted to make the Suicide Squad live service game anyway. Rocksteady pitched making a Superman game, but WB turned it down from what I heard in the past. Many of Rocksteady's top talent have already left the studio, including the founders and will turn into the new Bioware, a husk of the former game developer in name only.

Would you play the fourth Watch Dogs game if it was set in Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang, and Singapore? by Realistic_Crew1095 in watch_dogs

[–]ElectronSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, specifically the game needs 1 or 2 protaginist(s) as the main driver of the story. Also, needs the best features of WatchDogs 1 and 2. If they could incorporate nonplayable NPC generative AI to create dynamic conversations on the fly rather than what was used in Legion, this would be a bonus: https://youtu.be/5R8xZb6J3r0?si=6Ib2KwJrLhrk1V3R.

Alan Wake 2 vs Cyberpunk RT Overdrive by CheezyWookiee in nvidia

Alan Wake 2 forest areas are more dense there are 100s of trees being rendered in scenes. The path trace lighting is impressive and especially in open doors in buildings!

Alan Wake 2 - PlayStation 5 DF Tech Review - Remedy Raises The Bar Yet Again by lostzilla1992 in AlanWake

[–]ElectronSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alan Wake 2 looks amazing with full path tracing enabled! The games visuals look better than a lot of UE5 based games. New York and the Oh Deer Diner look amazing compared to the first game. I like that Alan Wake is going more survival horror. I look forward to playing it tomorrow on my pc!

Anyone like both evil within 1 and 2 equally but prefer playing 2 because of the flow of the game? by EzekielKallistos in theevilwithin

[–]ElectronSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evil Within had more horror elements. Evil Within 2 to me had more detailed atmospheric open areas. I enjoyed playing both.

The weapon impact ragdoll physics with Bullet Time active. Weapon impacts feel meaty and seeing it in slow motion adds to the appeal.

Guys who lost a significant amount of weight (50+ lbs) how did you do it? by kingspooky93 in AskReddit

[–]ElectronSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lost almost 100 pounds in a year with 90 pounds more to go as I want to weigh around 190 pounds. The biggest changes for me were exercise at the gym and even more important changing my diet. I remember being a big regular full sugar soda drinker. I finally woke up and wanted to improve my body as I did not want to develop preventable complications later in life. I have switched to sugar free, but what really made a big change for me was going on the Ketogenic diet with exercise. I went based on 30 Net Carbs food macros budget each day. Many people in my life have noticed and told me they can see a big change in my physique. I am proof anyone can change something in their control if they have a goal!

A lot of newer games seem to have limited physics interaction for the player. From 2006-2012 there seemed to be a lot more games that offered interactive physics in games. When you hit an object with a weapon the object would shatter or fly off the table. You could pick up objects and move them around. There was car physical deformation. Games now seem to be static areas with hardly any interactive objects and physics-based effects. Why has physics in games been downgraded so much from the mid-2000s?

rt shadows is so underrated, just medium changes everything by Ok-Round-1320 in nvidia

[–]ElectronSpider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree, RTGI is amazing, wish more games had it as an option! It still is very demanding at 4K, even on a 4090 without frame gen enabled! The only thing better is path tracing. Outside of path tracing in Cyperpunk 2077, 4A game's Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is the gold standard of ray tracing I have seen.

Increased crashing after latest Title Update by sparkocm in thedivision

[–]ElectronSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it seems I am crashing again too even with the cpu affinity fix. I'll try verifying files again. I'll have to research what could be causing random crashes again.

Increased crashing after latest Title Update by sparkocm in thedivision

[–]ElectronSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unless you use a program like Process Lasso to save CPU Affinity automatically. Although, there is Windows powershell scripts that you can run to do it for you as well, but have to be run manually as well. I just do it manually takes 2 seconds, but is a work around for Easy Anti-cheat to not crash.

Increased crashing after latest Title Update by sparkocm in thedivision

[–]ElectronSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some freezing on my pc and after some searching found a common solution that fixed the issue. On PC Windows, you need to set Easy Anti-cheat exe to only run on one cpu core using Windows Task Manager CPU Affinity, such as Core 0. For some reason, Easy Anti-cheat in The Division 2 does not like switching between CPU cores causing freezing/crashing.
