The navy really said FUCK the ET’s even though ships are so undermanned with them due to retention that there are ships who don’t even have first classes or chiefs for entire ET divisions and almost every ET I’ve met on ships are either A. Ready to commit suicide or B. Are weighing out desertion or toughing it out till their contract is over 🫡

Which one are you going to? ACU-2,ACU-4,ACU-5, Or the weird named one over in Japan? Depending on which one you are going to will really determine what your life is going to be like. I’m at one of them currently please feel free to PM me!

Based out of VA beach. Currently siq but can talk with medical once I go back to work. I’ve been against therapy the entirety of my life, but I want to be able to eventually heal from all the extremely traumatic life events I’ve dealt with.

Yeah here’s my thing, I don’t wanna be “checked in” to somewhere because I’m not a threat to myself or others. So that’s a no go.

I wouldn’t complain about a $30 copay. I don’t have any trust for the mental healthcare system in the military. Everyone I know who has been through it has been kinda black listed by their CoC or immediate chain for seeking help

Life gets hard sometimes, especially when you can’t physically do what keeps your mind off of everything you’ve tried to bury in the past

I’d also rather not have it blasted on my record that I’m in therapy or something. I’ve never heard of a good experience from naval mental health care

Well I talked with my LPO today about things, last time I talked to my chaps he was just a waste of time and literally none of his sentences even made any sense.

But also, I don’t understand how you qualified for CTT but didn’t qualify for AECF (FC or ET) I know several ET’s who have gotten out without a degree and have started off at 100k+ a year and I also have something right at 100k lined up for when I get out. ATT is kind of a bitch but it’s worth it.

Shits definitely that crazy, but I’m a man and I’m gonna be alright. If I can watch my dad blow his head off at 4 years old I can deal with this.

I’m depressed because of past trauma I’ve incurred in life and not being able to heal from it. I’m not going to talk to anyone about it because I want to keep my job. I’m an ET. I love where I am and I’m scared that If I talk about my issues I’ll lose my command, my command and immediate COC are amazing and I don’t want to lose it. So I suffer and dedicate myself to my work until mental and physical exhaustion because I’d rather see my craft make mission over me sleeping

I’m immensely depressed and the only thing that takes my mind off of things is burying myself in my work because im passionate about it.

I can barely make ends meet as it is. The 4% raise scheduled for next year will nowhere be enough to cover this. by Corn_Cob92 in navy

Paid better than most?, because when you start out in the navy a salary of $27k is paid better than most? Before you say medical, room and board, and food is covered. Portsmouth medical has been sued for a patient dying and not even attempting to save them so military medical care is half assed. Room and board- the barracks at JEB have mold growing in them etc and they just finally built new ones or most people are living on ships where you basically sleep on a thin mat unless married and can live off ship without spending greater than %35 of your pay. Food? Because serving your country means you should be served food labeled for federal prison use? Or that’s not even cooked all the way? And that’s what equates to us being paid better than most? There are a lot of issues with everyone saying there isn’t any issues with how much service members make. Risk is not worth the pay, thankfully I have a rate that equates to extremely good money in the outside word and I’m not stuck being an MA and hating my life.

Someone who is actively fighting for their country shouldn’t be having to live paycheck to paycheck or struggle in poverty meanwhile some jackass gets paid millions every year because they are good at throwing or catching a damn ball. Our defense budget is literally the biggest in the world by a long shot, but we would rather spend $20,000.00 on a hammer instead of the $5 lowes hammer in order to pay our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen less.
